After decades of Democrat mismanagement and corruption … Detroit files bankruptcy. After filing for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection, Michigan’s takeover of Detroit is the largest state takeover of a municipality in over two decades, and if successful, Detroit would avoid the biggest municipal bankruptcy ever. However, this is what happens when you promote 50 years of “blue” state Democrat, welfare state politics of high taxes, and lavish benefits packages for public and union workers. This crash was set in motion years ago, it was only a matter of time before it reached its final conclusion.

Detroit— The city of Detroit filed the largest municipal bankruptcy case in U.S. history Thursday, culminating a decades-long slide that transformed the nation’s iconic industrial town into a model of urban decline crippled by population loss, a dwindling tax base and financial problems.
Gov. Rick Snyder justified approving the historic filing by reciting a litany of the city’s ills, including more than $18 billion in debt, maxed-out tax rates, the highest murder rate in 40 years, 78,000 abandoned buildings and a half-century of residential flight. He said the city failed to provide basic services to residents or pay creditors.
The Gateway Pundit has a list of the failed Democrat Mayors for the past 50 years. Detroit has not had a Republican Mayor since 1961. Sorry Dems, you own Detroit and the catastrophic events that have building to this point where they have no alternative but to file bankruptcy.

The city of Detroit filed for Chapter 9 bankruptcy protection in federal court Thursday, laying the groundwork for a historic effort to bail out a city that is sinking under billions of dollars in debt and decades of mismanagement, population flight and loss of tax revenue.
The bankruptcy filing makes Detroit the largest city in U.S. history to do so.
The filing begins a 30- to 90-day period that will determine whether the city is eligible for Chapter 9 protection and define how many claimants might compete for the limited settlement resources that Detroit has to offer. The bankruptcy petition would seek protection from creditors and unions who are renegotiating $18.5 billion in debt and other liabilities.

TWINKIES, DING-DONGS & HO-HO’s are Back … Hostess Brands LLC to Hire 1,500 Workers But No Union Labor
They’re soon to be back … If you thought that Twinkies, Ding-Dongs and Ho-Ho’s were going the way of the Do-Do bird, you would be wrong. Hostess Brands LLC is reopening four bakeries to get Twinkies back in the hands of the public by July 2013. However, there is just one catch. Hostess Brands plans on hiring 1500 workers to bring back the tasty golden, delicious cream filled snack, but none of them will be union workers.
Hostess Brands — Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management’s APO -0.58% new incarnation of the baking company that liquidated in Chapter 11 — is reopening four bakeries in the next eight to 10 weeks, aiming to get Twinkie-deprived consumers the classic snack cake starting in July.
Chief Executive C. Dean Metropoulos said the company will pump $60 million in capital investments into the plants between now and September and aims to hire at least 1,500 workers. But they won’t be represented by unions, including the one whose nationwide strike sparked the 86-year-old company’s decision to shut down in November.

Just what Newtown, CT and America does not need following the mass shooting murders at the Sandy Hook Elementary School. The Westboro Baptist Cult is planning on protesting the Sandy Hook Elementary funerals with their vile and hateful signs. These hate mongers are now going to make a bad and terrible situation worse by planning protests. Margie Phelps tweeted the following.
As reported at the Examiner, don’t look now, but the Westboro Baptist Church is going to bring their special brand of hate to the streets of the mourning town of Newtown, CT. Talk about throwing gas onto a fire. Have these people no shame. Obviously not. Let’s understand the rational of liberties here. Those with a political agenda to ban guns want to go after the Second Amendment; however, those like the Westboro cult are perfectly OK and within their First Amendment rights to spew hate.
Less than 48 hours after the Connecticut school shooting at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT, which took place on Dec. 14, the Westboro Baptist Church is already making plans to picket. The Westboro Baptist Church is known for picketing and protesting at funerals across the country.
“Westboro will picket Sandy Hook Elementary School to sing praise to God for the glory of his work in executing his judgment,” Shirley Phelps-Roper tweeted on Dec. 15.
“They need to come back to Oklahoma,” Bryan Weathers, from Moore, said. “We know how to take care of them here.”

The Compassionate Left … Michigan Union Thugs Destroy Hot Dog Vendor Clint Tarver’s Cart While Hurling Racist Epithets at Him
There will be blood … Racist Union Thugs.
The Michigan union thugs are not for all labor are now they. During the pro-union rally following the signing of the “right to work” legislation, union members destroyed hot dog vendor Clint Tarver’s cart. As reported at Michelle Malkin, Tarver was caught up in the violent chaos that erupted when union thugs attacked the Americans for Prosperity tent on the capitol grounds in East Lansing, MI during the right-to-work protest. Sadly, President Barack Obama has said nothing to condemn the union violence or the attack against Clint Tarver.
If this was not bad enough, that these thugs destroyed this man’s private property, but they also hurled racial slurs at him. They called him an “N” word and said he was on the wrong side. UNREAL. But it is the Tea Party who is branded racist. The Velvet Hammer reports that the thugs shouted “Uncle Tom” and “ni&&er” at Tarver.

Where is Obama’s comments on the unions acting stupidly like he falsely accused the Cambridge, Mass police? Where is Obama’s comments that Clint Tarver could look like your son uncle?
