The legal battles are not over yet for Casey Anthony. Today, the Casey Anthony legal team returns to court to fight a civil law suit against her brought by the non-profit search organization, Texas EquuSearch. Judge Lisa Munyon will hear motions brought by TES looking to be paid back for the monies that they spent in looking for what was thought to be missing Caylee Anthony. Texas Equusearch spend more than $100,000 in the search for Caylee Anthony.

Casey Anthony’s legal team will return to court to fight one of the civil suits against her.

Judge Lisa Munyon will hear a motion from Texas EquuSearch Monday afternoon.

Texas EquuSearch spent weeks looking for Caylee Anthony, and it wants Anthony to pay them back thousands of dollars.

At question is whether the fact that Caylee Anthony was ever missing. According to TES, the Casey Anthony’s defense team presented at the murder trial that Caylee Anthony was never a missing person case. Defense attorney Jose Baez and the rest of Team Casey put forth that Caylee Anthony died from accidental drowning and was never missing.

The hearing is being held to ask the judge to force Anthony to answer their questions in a deposition.

EquuSearch is joining another motion filed by attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez, who is also suing Anthony. They say Anthony should be compelled to answer questions in a deposition without invoking the Fifth Amendment. At a hearing last week, attorneys for Gonzalez said Anthony should no longer have that privilege.

Thousands of people took part in the searches for missing Caylee Anthony, only to learn from Casey Anthony’s murder trial that Caylee was dead from the outset.

Missing: Michelle Parker

According to detectives, Michelle Parker’s cell phone was powered down in the area about 8 p.m. Thursday. Also, her sport utility vehicle was later found on the west side of Orlando.

In a bizarre happening, Michelle Parker vanished last week following the airing of “The People’s Court” episode she appeared on. The episode of the court show aired featuring her and her ex-fiancée, Dale Smith. According to reports, there has been quite a rocky road and violent past between Parker and Smith.  Obviously not a good sign, especially when one’s ex goes missing.

In an alert, police said that Parker has a violent history with a former boyfriend. Court documents indicate the pair went through a custody battle in 2009 over their now 3-year-old twins.

Parker also filed a request for domestic-violence injunction against the man that year. In it, she accused him of a violent tirade in the presence of their children, then 15 months old.

She wrote the man cursed and threatened her on Aug. 16, 2009, while holding one of their twins. He also broke the passenger window of her vehicle, she said, and threw a pair of child car seats.

As reported by WFTV, the family of missing Michelle Parker state that ex-fiance is not a suspect as search continues for missing Orlando mother. Really? I am not sure how confident I would stand behind those statements, especially when there is so much historic data that these kind of disappearances and crimes have an estranged spouse or relation component. According to accounts, Texas Equusearch has joined efforts to search for missing Michelle Parker.

Searchers discovered a body on Sunday in a wooded area of Montgomery County that is believed to be that of missing Amber Chantel Elkins. According to Tom Miller, the founder of Texas Equusearch, the body was found found near a bridge around 3:30 PM. Although there has been no positive ID of the body, it is widely believed to be that of Amber Chantel Elkins. The body has been sent to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s office for identification.

Search volunteers on Sunday discovered a body believed to be that of Amber Chantel Elkins, a 20-year-old Humble mother, in a wooded area of Montgomery County, an official said.

Tim Miller, founder and director of Texas EquuSearch, said the body was found near a bridge around 3:30 p.m. Officials are awaiting positive identification of the body, but believe it’s Elkins and notified her family, he said.

Elkins vanished a week ago.

“Right now it’s the worst news they could ever imagine,” said Miller. “Now it’s real. Now she’s really not coming home.”

Tim Miller stated that it appeared that the body  “was dumped in an isolated area.”

Miller said his team was searching the area off Gene Campbell Road and FM 1314 after receiving some information from detectives, their focus was on the woods near some cell towers.

“So, we just had our people out there, just concentrating on areas around these cell towers that we had information on,” said Miller.

Just the other day, Elkin’s boyfriend, James Clarke Jr, was charged with murder.

“We walked over together and looked in, that’s when we saw the blood and it looked like, you know, commotion had taken place in there,” said Tommy Johnson. “Her purse and stuff like that was thrown all over the place, blood was on the seat, on the console, the shifter, on the sides of the driver seat.”

Missing: Amber Chantel Elkins

Elkins is described as standing at a height of between 5-feet 8-inches and 5-feet 9-inches tall, weighing 130 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. She has two stars tattooed on her wrist and the word “ACE” tattooed on her ankle.

Deputies arrived around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday to find a dark green 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer abandoned in a parking lot on Homestead Road near Old Humble Road. The sport utility vehicle with Georgia license plates was left in the lot north of Greens Bayou.

Upon further investigation, deputies found the front passenger window of the Trailblazer had been shattered and that a substantial amount of blood was visible in the vehicle.

Shani Kilpatrick,, Amber Elkins’ mother stated that she received a call at 3:30 AM on Sunday, but she missed the call because she was sleeping. When she called her back, a guy answered and hung up when Kilpatrick  asked where Amber was.

“I called her back and a guy answered. I asked where Amber was, and he hung up,” said Kilpatrick. “She would only call me at 3:30 in the morning if something was wrong. That’s why I know something was wrong.”

Kilpatrick said the man was her daughter’s new boyfriend. The two have been dating about a month and Kilpatrick said she does not know much about him.

Kilpatrick also said Elkins was due in court on Monday for a custody hearing regarding her 9-month-old daughter, who is staying with relatives.

Tim Miller and Texas Equusearch are helping in the search for missing Amber Chantel Elkins. According to Tim Miller, it does not look good.

“Unfortunately, she wasn’t reported missing,” said Tim Miller of Texas EquuSearch in an interview with FOX 26 Morning News. “We want to hold on to that hope at times that somebody is going to be found alive

UPDATE I: Hope Dim in Finding Amber Chantel Elkins, Mom says her behavior was unusual and she had new friends.

Her daughter, 20-year-old Amber Chantel Elkins, seemed out of character, hanging out with a new crowd including a new boyfriend, none of whom Kilpatrick knew very well. [...]

Elkins, who has a 9-month-old daughter, was last seen Sunday evening. Kilpatrick said Elkins was supposed to go to court the next morning to fill out paperwork for the beginning of custody hearings concerning her own daughter, Ava Ferrata, whose father had refused to return the infant after a visit. But Elkins never showed up to the hearing.

“She was trying to get her baby back,” Kilpatrick said.

UPDATE II: 31 year old James David Clark, boyfriend of missing Amber Alkins arrested for her murder. Clark has been booked at the Harris County jail. He is not the father of her children. Just another example of yet another senseless murder.  James David Clark has a past record that includes assault, theft and drug charges. Seems like boyfriend material to me. What a sad, sad, situation.

Following Casey’s acquittal on July 5, Miller said he was considering a lawsuit against the family.

The founder of EquuSearch accused the Anthony family of knowing Caylee was never missing, but hiring the group for their services regardless.

“I do regret now, and when I watched opening statements and Jose Baez opened with saying Caylee Anthony never was missing I basically said, ‘damn you’.”

More than 4,200 volunteers went to search for the missing 2-year-old. The 2-week search cost EquuSearch an estimated $100,000.

I was one of those 4200 individuals who took part in the searches for Caylee Anthony in August through September, 2008. The searches took place in numerous locations including Blanchard Park and other areas from cell phone pings.

The law suit alleges that Casey Anthony made “ongoing misrepresentations” to EquuSearch and its founder, Tim Miller. Also, that she failed to correct “materially false information” to convince staff and volunteers to “engage in extensive, costly and time-consuming searches for Caylee.”  Texas Equusearch also seeks repayment for services rendered based on “lies, omissions and deceptions.”

The lawsuit details how EquuSearch became involved in the case, beginning with a phone call to Miller from Cindy Anthony, Casey’s mother and Caylee’s grandmother. Miller later met with Casey Anthony, her parents Cindy and George Anthony, and Casey Anthony’s attorney Jose Baez. In the presence of Casey Anthony, the grandparents said Caylee was “still alive” and was not corrected by the toddler’s mother.

The Orlando County Sheriff’s Department is going to go after Casey Anthony for the cost of the investigation for Caylee Anthony based upon the lies that Casey was found guilty of by the jury. However, does that mean that TES will be afforded the same opportunity? Some legal analysts do not believe that the law suit will hold up in court. FOX 26 legal analyst Chris Tritico thinks that because TES is a volunteer organization that they will not have a right to ask for their money back since they do the work for free. Although, was there a fraud perpetuated to bring them to Orlando in the first place? That is the question. Texas Equusearch may be a volunteer search organization that is a 501(c)3, but that does not mean there are not expenses they must outlay to do a search. Let alone the donations, services and goods that were provided by caring individuals.

“It’s a free organization, a charity organization that does work for people for free,” Tritico said. “If that’s the case, they don’t have the right to come in now and say, ‘We want our money back’.”

In the end, this case was like a bad penny. Little help from the family to do organized searches for Caylee. No help from Casey Anthony who according to her defense attorney Jose Baez knew Caylee was dead from the outset. Finally, no justice provided by a jury who seemed to have wanted absolute certitude that Casey was guilty, not reasonable doubt.

7 year old Somer Renee Thompson has been missing since the afternoon of October 19, 2009. She was walking home from the from Grove Park Elementary School at approximately 2:50 pm with her twin brother, her sister and some friends when she ran ahead of the group and was never seen again.

An AMBER ALERT has been issued by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

Police suspect foul play in the 7 year olds disappearance. After 200 leads, questioning of 58 sex offenders and searches by 100’s of law enforcement, there are no “persons of interest” or physical evidence indicating where missing Somer Renee Thompson might be.

It appears that Tim Miller and the volunteers of Texas EquuSearch will be coming to Florida to help search for Somer Renee Thompson.

“They should know that she’s one of the most loving little girls in the whole wide world. She doesn’t know a stranger,” Diena Thompson said of her daughter, Somer. “And if somebody has her, please just bring her home.”

UPDATE I: Body of Missing Somer Renee Thompson found in Landfill

Sadly, the body of 7 year old Somer Renee Thompson has been found in a Georgia landfill. Investigators have confirmed that the body of a young girl that was found in a Georgia landfill about 50 miles from the Jacksonville, FL area where Somer went missing was Somer Renee Thompson.

Officials from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation say that they will not determine, nor disclose, until an autopsy is performed tomorrow morning if the body is that of  little Somer Thompson. Thompson vanished on her mile-long walk home from school Monday in Orange Park, Florida. John Bankhead, spokesman for the GBI tells Fox that the investigators are still at the scene where the body was discovered, but that the body of the young female has been sent to Savannah, GA for the autopsy in the morning.

UPDATE II: Florida Police Confirm Body in Landfill Is That of Missing Girl

After sifting through 100 tons of garbage, investigators found the body of deceased 7 Year Old Somer Renee Thompson. One thing is for certain that if Somer was sexually assaulted and DNA evidence can be found, it is most probable that there will be an arrest. It is hard to believe that this was not an abduction of opportunity by a sex offender. The fact that she was walking home from school, a prime opportunity for a sex offender to snatch a victim, cannot be lost here. Predators wait until one separates from the pack and then they pounce.

The partially covered body was found in a Georgia landfill near the Florida state line, after investigators followed garbage trucks leaving the neighborhood where Somer disappeared.

Beseler said investigators searched through 100 tons of garbage before finding the body.

CNN: The body of a small child found in a south Georgia landfill has been identified as that of a missing 7-year-old Florida girl, Clay County, Florida, Sheriff Rick Beseler said Thursday morning.

Our hearts and prayers are with the family and friends of Somer Renee Thompson and may she rest in eternal peace.
