Federal Prosecutors Will Seek the Death Penalty Against Boston Marathon Bombing Suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev

FINALLY ATTORNEY GENERAL ERIC HOLDER GETS SOMETHING RIGHT, FEDS WILL SEEK DEATH PENALTY AGAINST DZHOKHAR TAARNAEV …

United States federal prosecutors will seek the death penalty against  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev for his role in the Boston Marathon bombing that took place on April 15, 2013 that left three dead and many more seriously injured losing limbs. U.S. attorney in Boston, Carmen Ortiz, said in a statement that prosecutors there supported the decision and that the “trial team is prepared to move forward.” It can’t come soon enough. If there was ever a case for the death penalty, this would be it. Let’s give Dzhokhar Tsarnaev his fair trial, let the jury deliberate and let’s hope that common sense prevails and he is found guilty and sentenced to death.

Dzhokhar Tsarnaev better hope that Boston Red Sox’s Big Papi is not selected for jury duty …

The Justice Department announced Thursday that it would seek the death penalty against Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the 20-year-old man whom prosecutors have accused of bombing the Boston Marathon, killing three people and injuring more than 200 others.

“The nature of the conduct at issue and the resultant harm compel this decision,” Attorney General Eric H. Holder Jr. said in a short statement.

The U.S. attorney in Boston, Carmen Ortiz, said in a statement that prosecutors there supported the decision and that the “trial team is prepared to move forward.”

The case is in its early stages, and prosecutors could yet use the threat of death to strike a plea bargain with the young man and avoid a lengthy trial with bombing victims taking the stand to recount the attack.

Notice to seek the death penalty can be read HERE.

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SEEK THE DEATH PENALTY

The United States of America, by and through its undersigned counsel and pursuant to 18 U.S.C. §3593(a),notifies the Court and
Defendant DZHOKHAR TSARNAEV that the United States believes the circumstances of the offenses charged in Counts One through Ten
and Counts Twelve through Eighteen of the Indictment are such that, in the event of a conviction, a sentence of death is justified
under Chapter 228 (Sections 3591 through 3598) of Title 18 of the United States Code, and that the United States will seek the sentence
of death for these offenses. (more)

CNN has audio of Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s mother reaction and for some reason decides to report on the news that  Dzhokhar’s mother thinks he is innocent of the Boston Marathon bombings and the murders that took place in the aftermath. CNN also then reported that many in southern Russia are distrustful of the US government’s case against  Dzhokhar Tsarnaev. I wonder why their ratings are waning?

They Said What … NewsBusters Dopiest Quotes of 2013 … The “Audacity of Dopes Award for the Wackiest Analysis of the Year”

Newsbusters has the “Dopiest” quotes of 2013 and let me just say they are pretty damn dopey … Should it be considered the ‘Audacity of Dope” or “Dope and Change”? Incredibly, there were probably so many to pick from, the following are the winners, they said what?

1. MSNBC’s Melissa Harris-Perry, for a Big Brother-esque “Lean Forward” promo that began airing on her network in early April.

I bet Americans did not know that kids belong to their parents and their families. Nope, not in the eyes of socialists in the media. This goes beyond Hillary Clinton’s notion that ‘it takes a village’. Americans should just say a collective, YIKES!!!

“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have, because we’ve always had kind of a private notion of children …. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children ….We have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.”

2. New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman on April 21 thought he had the perfect argument for his longstanding quest for a prosperity-suffocating tax on fossil fuels. This liberal, anti-fossil fuel, global warming columnist actually had the audacity to link the Boston Marathon massacre terror bombing by the Tsarnaev brothers as an excuse to exploit it and call for carbon taxes. Some one really needs to explain the connection other than liberal dribble. Because we can see that they really cared about global warming.

“Until we fully understand what turned two brothers who allegedly perpetrated the Boston Marathon bombings into murderers, it is hard to make any policy recommendation other than this: We need to redouble our efforts to make America stronger and healthier so it remains a vibrant counterexample to whatever bigoted ideology may have gripped these young men….And the best place to start is with a carbon tax.”

Read and listen to the rest at Newsbusters that includes the incredible notion that the media slants to the right and the part that makes the Christmas season too stressful, is the religious stuff.

From The WAPO: His arm in cast and his face swollen, Boston Marathon bombing suspect pleads not guilty. Awe, poor baby.

His arm in a cast and his face swollen, a blase-looking Dzhokhar Tsarnaev pleaded not guilty Wednesday in the Boston Marathon bombing in a seven-minute proceeding that marked his first public appearance since his capture in mid-April.

As victims of the bombing looked on, Tsarnaev, 19, gave a small, lopsided smile to his sisters upon arriving in the courtroom. He appeared to have a jaw injury and there was swelling around his left eye and cheek.

A federal grand jury today handed up a sweeping indictment of Boston Marathon bombings suspect Dzhokhar A. Tsarnaev, charging him with using weapons of mass destruction and killing four people.

The 30-count indictment alleges that Tsarnaev had been inspired by Al Qaeda publications and left a confession in the boat where he was captured in a Watertown back yard.

In it, he said, “I don’t like killing innocent people” and noted that “it is forbidden” in Islam to do so, but he justified his actions as a response to US military action in Muslim countries, according to the indictment.

“The U.S. Government is killing our innocent civilians. …. I can’t stand to see such evil go unpunished. … We Muslims are one body, you hurt one, you hurt us all,” Tsarnaev allegedly wrote. “Stop killing our innocent people and we will stop.”

The indictment alleges that sometime before the bombings, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, downloaded different pieces of extremist Islamic propaganda from the Internet, including one that directed Muslims not to give their allegiances to governments that invade Muslim lands and another by Anwar al-Awlaki. Al-Awlaki is the American citizen who became a senior operative in Al Qaeda’s branch in Yemen and was killed in a 2011 drone strike.

From The Daily Caller: The Islamic organization that includes Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s mosque has ties to the al-Qaeda operative that reportedly inspired Tsarnaev to carry out the Boston Marathon terrorist attack.

Khusen Taramov said he and his friend had no connection with the Boston bombings, but the FBI had been questioning them since then.

“He used to talk on the phone with him [Tsarnaev],” Taramov said of his friend. “They talked last time a month ago. After the bombing, I couldn’t believe it,” he said.

NICOLE PESECKY : I’m Nicole Pesecky live in Orlando following breaking news in an FBI related shooting that happened here at this apartment complex early this morning. We do just have new information from the FBI. Confirming that the suspect killed here was someone they were looking at in connection with Tamerlan Tsarnaev, based on contact that they, that he had. They say it is possible that when he tried to leave to go back home from Chechnya, which is where his friends say he is from. He possibly found himself on the no-fly list and had to return home, and he may have been angry because of that. His friends tell me that flight was booked for yesterday and he did cancel that flight and wasn’t able to return home to Chechnya to visit yesterday. (more)

Orlando Sentinel: Friend: Orlando man killed by FBI agent was questioned in Boston Marathon bombings.

That man, Khusn Taramiv, thinks it was his friend — Ibragim Todashev — who was shot this morning in the 6000 block of Peregrine Avenue in Orlando.

Todashev, 27, was arrested by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office on May 4 and charged with aggravated battery with great bodily harm

Taramiv told several television outlets his friend was being investigated as part of the Boston bombings and knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were mixed martial-arts fighters.

WESH: Orlando man killed by FBI had ties to Boston Marathon bombing suspect, NBC News confirms: Man knew Boston bombing suspect, friend says.

A friend of the suspect, Khusn Taramiv, said his friend, 27-year-old Ibragim Todashev, was being investigated as part of the Boston bombings and knew Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters.

Taramiv claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday.

“(The FBI) took me and my friend, the suspect that got killed. They were talking to us, both of us, right? And they said they need him for a little more, for a couple more hours, and I left, and they told me they’re going to bring him back. They never brought him back,” Taramiv said.

CBS News:

Miller reported that FBI agents went to Todashev’s apartment complex after midnight Wednesday morning to question him. Todashev had been on the bureau’s radar since Tsarnaev was identified as a suspect in the bombing.

“He had been interviewed along with a number of other people in the apartment complex, but the interest in him was higher because of a couple of factors: He was in contact with Tamerlan Tsarnaev. He had been to Boston to visit him, and he was planning a trip to Chechnya,” Miller said.

FBI agents went to question him overnight after there were indications that he canceled that trip, Miller said.

“In the encounter in the apartment, something went wrong,” Miller said.
