Double Murder-Suicide: Former White Plains, NY Police Officer Glen Hochman Murders His Two Daughters (Alissa, 17, and Deanna, 13), Family Dogs and Then Commits Suicide

OH DEAR GOD, WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS … BEYOND TRAGIC.

The New York Daily News is reporting that Glen Hochman, a 22-year veteran who left the White Plains Police Department in January, has murdered his two teenage daughters, as well as the family dogs and then killed himself at their Adelphi Avenue home in Harrison on Saturday. In doing the unthinkable, Hochman killed his two teen daughters, 17 year old Alissa and 13 year old Deanna. Glen Hochman was found by police in the garage with a self inflicted gunshot wound. Alissa and Deanna were found dead in their bedrooms. Glen Hochman had a wife and another daughter, who were not at the house at the time of the killings.

What would have possessed the former 52 year old White Plains, NY police officer to do such an unspeakable act? White Plains Public Safety Commissioner David Chong said, Hochman served with “honor and integrity” and had an unblemished record. According to the NY Post, Glen Hochman and his wife, Anamarie, had been having serious marital problems and had been talking divorce.

The high school in the small Westchester town shaken by a former police officer’s murder of his two teenage daughters continued to come to grips with the unspeakable tragedy Sunday and was scheduled to open at noon to offer counseling to grief-stricken students.

Glen Hochman, a 22-year veteran who left the White Plains Police Department in January — killed his daughters Alissa, 17, and Deanna, 13, as well as the family’s pets in their Adelphi Ave. home in Harrison Saturday before killing himself, authorities said.

“No words to describe it,” said Chris Garritano, 17, a senior along with Alissa at Harrison High School. “We always hung out. It’s just unreal to see her gone….She always seemed happy.”

Police did not immediately reveal how the murders were committed. The retired White Plains cop was recently honored for saving a man’s life.

Glen Hochman, 52, a retired White Plains officer, killed himself after killing his two youngest daughters, Alissa Hochman, 17, and Deanna Hochman, 13, on Saturday at their home on Adelphi Avenue.

Harrison Police Chief Anthony Marracini said a gun was found at the home.

Marracini did not discuss a possible motive.

Hochman’s wife, Anamarie DiPietro-Hochman, 50, and their eldest daughter Samantha, 22, were out of town when the shooting happened.

As reported at the Kansas City Star, comes a new true crime show that premiered tonight with an episode of an abduction and murder that we covered in 2007, the disappearance and death of  Overland Park, Kansas teen Kelsey Smith. Edwin R. Hall was later charged with the 1st degree murder and aggravated kidnapping in the murder of 18 year old Kelsey Smith. Hall would later plead guilty to the kidnapping, raping, sodomizing and murder of Kelsey Smith. How fitting the true crime episodes name is ‘See No Evil’ as discussed here on Scared Monkeys.

A new true crime show premieres Tuesday night with an episode centered on the abduction and murder of Overland Park teenager Kelsey Smith.

“See No Evil,” which focuses on surveillance video footage that helps solve crimes, premiers at 9 p.m. on the Investigation Discovery channel.

Kelsey Smith went shopping on June 2, 2007, at a Target store in Overland Park. She never made it home. She was found dead four days later in Jackson County.

Nova Scotia Police Arrest Three People in an Alleged Valentine’s Day Massacre Plot

CANADIAN POLICE FOIL VALENTINE’S DAY MASSACRE PLOT …

As reported at The Telegraph, Canadian police have foiled a plot by four suspects, three men from Halifax and one woman from the US, who were planning on Valentine’s Day to go to a  shopping mall and killing as many people as they could before killing themselves. Nova Scotia police arrest three people. One of the two suspects, a 23 year old American woman from Geneva, Illinois, was arrested at Halifax’s airport and confessed to the mass murder plot.

Police in Canada have foiled a plot by two suspects who were planning on going to a shopping mall and killing as many people as they could before killing themselves on Valentine’s Day.

The suspects were reportedly on a chat stream and were apparently obsessed with killing and death and had many photos of mass killings. Police and other officials said it was not related to Islamic terrorism.

One of the two suspects, a 23-year-old American woman from Geneva, Illinois, was arrested at Halifax’s airport and confessed to the plot. The official said she prewrote a number of pronouncements to be tweeted after her death.

Police said the suspects had access to firearms, but did not elaborate.

The official said the 19-year-old male shot himself to death after police surrounded his parent’s home. The official said after police were tipped off about the plot they surrounded his home. Police saw two people leave the house who they later determined were his parents. The official stopped the parents on a traffic check before calling the man. As the man told police that he did not have any guns and he was on his way out of the house he shot himself, the official said.

JESSE MATTHEWS CHARGED WITH MURDER …

According to many news outlets, Jesse Matthews Jr. will been charged with first degree murder in the death of 18 year old University of Virginia student Hannah Graham. Matthews was arrested in September 2014 and has already been charged with abduction with the intent to defile in the case of Hannah Graham. The 18 year old UVA coed went missing on 9/13/14 in in Charlottesville, Virginia. Matthew is also charged in connection to a rape case in Fairfax  and police have forensic evidence that links Matthews to the 2009 disappearance and death of Virginia Tech student Morgan Harrington.

Two independent sources tell NBC29 that Jesse Matthew has been charged with the first-degree murder of University of Virginia student Hannah Graham.

The Albemarle County Police Department and the Commonwealth’s Attorney have scheduled a press conference to be held Tuesday morning to announce updates to the Matthew case.

The Albermarle County Police Department and the county prosecutor are scheduled to hold an 11 a.m. ET news conference to discuss the case.

18 Year Old Freshman Karlie Hall Found Dead in Her Dormroom at Millersville University (Update: 19 Year Old Boyfriend Gregorio Orrostieta Arrested)

An autopsy has been scheduled for Monday following the discovery of 18 year old coed Karlie Hall, who was found dead in her dorm room on Sunday at Millersville University in Millersville, Pennsylvania. Karlie Hall was found unresponsive about 5 a.m. Sunday by emergency personnel responding to a call for a cardiac arrest following a physical altercation between Karlie and her boyfriend. 19 year old Gregorio Orrostieta has been charged with aggravated assault. Look for these charges to be amended upon conclusion of the autopsy. It is being reported that Orrostieta, of Kennett Square, PA, did not attend the Lancaster County university and that he is being held in lieu of $1.5 million bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for February 19. According to numerous media sources, Karlie Hall was severely beaten.

An autopsy is set for Monday for Karlie Hall, an 18-year-old Millersville University freshman from Chadds Ford who was found dead in her dorm room Sunday.

Hall’s boyfriend in the meantime is being held on aggravated assault charges stemming from a physical altercation before she was found unresponsive about 5 a.m. by emergency personnel responding to a call for a cardiac arrest.

LancasterOnline, citing unidentified sources, reported that Hall had been “severely beaten.”

Gregorio Orrostieta, 19, of Kennett Square, was charged with aggravated assault in connection with the death of 18-year-old Karlie Hall of Chadds Ford.

He was arraigned late Sunday by District Judge Joshua Keller and committed to Lancaster County Prison in lieu of $1.5 million bail, according to court documents.

Officials said the exact cause of death hasn’t been determined and said they hope to have more information after an autopsy Monday morning.

Orrostieta was charged after it was determined that he and Hall had a “physical altercation,” according to officials.

Sources said Hall was severely beaten.
