Keith Olbermann Gone from ESPN Again

Keith Olbermann and ESPN have parted ways yet again …

As reported at THR, television personality Keith Olbermann and ESPN are parting ways for a second time. It turns out that Olbermann is even too liberal for what I like to refer to now as LESPN, liberal entertainment sports programming network. ESPN is looking to cut $100 million from next year’s budget and $250 million from 2017′s budget. According to BI, network executives had asked Olbermann to ditch his leased Times Square studio, where his program is produced for ESPN2, and either move to the network’s headquarters in Bristol, Connecticut or to Los Angeles, However, the biggest sticking point appeared to be that  as a part of an extension of his 2 year deal, the network wanted him to stop offering commentary on his program. What, Olbermann not allowed to spew his venom? No way, that was a deal breaker. But when one thinks about it, opinion commentary and criticizing sports hardly seems like a money maker for those in the sports entertainment industry. Especially when these days ESPN is not the only game in town.

Olbermann2

Keith Olbermann is exiting ESPN once again.

The television personality, who rejoined the sports network in August 2013, won’t be renewing his deal to anchor his ESPN2 program. The news follows a THR report on July 1, noting that ESPN management floated an ultimately unworkable caveat: that Olbermann cease engaging in commentary.

“Keith is a tremendous talent who has consistently done timely, entertaining and thought-provoking work since returning to ESPN,” the network said in a statement. “While the show’s content was distinctive and extremely high quality, we ultimately made a business decision to move in another direction. We wish Keith nothing but the best and trust that his skill and ability will lead him to another promising endeavor.”

Press Release from ESPN:

“Keith is a tremendous talent who has consistently done timely, entertaining and thought-provoking work since returning to ESPN. While the show’s content was distinctive and extremely high quality, we ultimately made a business decision to move in another direction. We wish Keith nothing but the best and trust that his skill and ability will lead him to another promising endeavor.”

Although I admit there is very little that I agree will politically with Keith Olbermann, he did have some solid commentary when it came to sports and the actions of sports athletes. None could I agree more that when he spoke out against domestic violence and asked viewers to boycott the NFL Draft because of  Jameis Winston and not watch the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight because of Mayweather’s long past of domestic violence charges,

Bob Costas Says of ESPN Awarding the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage to Caitlyn Jenner … “It is Just a Crass Exploitation Play, Its a Tabloid Play.”

BOB COSTAS GOES THERE AND NAILS IT …

Bob Costas is going to catch hell for this and be labeled a transgenderist bigot. In a radio interview with Dan Patrick on The Dan Patrick Show, Bob Costas was asked what he thought of Bruce Caitlyn Jenner winning the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. Costas called it a PR stunt, a crass exploitative, tabloid play. I have not always agreed with Coastas’ opinions, especially when it comes to his liberal views on the Second Amendment, however, I have always enjoyed him as a sports announcer since his play by play days with the Spirits of St. Louis of the ABA and he positively, absolutely explains the Caityn Jenner situation perfectly.

However, it strikes me that awarding the Arthur Ashe award to Caitlyn Jenner is just a crass exploitation play. It’s a tabloid play. In the broad world of sports, I’m pretty sure they could have found—and this is not anything against Caitlyn Jenner—I’m pretty sure they could have found someone who was much closer to actively involved in sports, who would have been deserving of what that award represents.

Only some one like Costas, a liberal who has built up a tremendous amount of sports capital, could get away with making such strong opinions that speak for many. Lesser folks would get destroyed by the LGBT hit squads. Bob Costas wished Caitlyn all the happiness in the world and all the peace of mind in the world, which any civilized person would do. However, that does not mean that Caitlyn is the only human being in the world and is deserving of every award and have it pushed down our throats. The media is in the business of exploitation and that is exactly what ESPN is doing in a “crass” way.

Dan Patrick agreed and followed up with, “I was with you. It felt a little too reality show, tabloid show that all of a sudden lets jump in with Caitlyn Jenner.  Bob Costas went on to say, “It feels lets lets buy into the Keeping up with the Kardashian culture that has over taken a good part of the cultural landscape. That’s a train that left the station no matter how you and I feel out it.”  Sadly, he is correct.

Dead Spin: Costas expresses his disapproval of ESPN’s decision to give its made-up award to Jenner … This is all an “exploitation play,”

I wish Caitlyn all the happiness in the world and all the peace of mind in the world.

That’s not to say that it doesn’t take some measure of personal courage to do what Caitlyn Jenner has done, but I think that ever year we look across the landscape of sports, and we find prominent people and kids in high school and amateur athletes who I think more closely fit the description of what they’re looking for or should be looking for there. And I think this is a play to pump up audience the way lots of things are put on television, to attract eyeballs, not because of the validity, but because of whatever the kind of gawker factor is.

Previous Winners of the Arthur Ashe Award for Courage. We can see with the last two choices that ESPN has gone the route of the LGBT and is in fear of losing sight as to what they are and who their fan base is. Just a reminder to ESPN, the “S” stands for SPORTS.

Jerry Seinfeld Says Comedians Tell Me Don’t Do Coleges Campuses, THEY’RE SO PC

PC ALERT: HOW IS IT THAT AMERICAN COLLEGES WHEN FROM BASTIONS OF FREE SPEECH AND THOUGHT TO PC SPEECH AND NO THOUGHT?

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld appeared on ‘The Herd’ with Colin Cowherd when he made a rather remarkable and honest comment. Seinfeld said that comedians have told him to not do comedy at college campuses because they are so politically correct now. He went on to say tat colleges students throw out words like “sexist” and “racist” without knowing what those words actually mean.

When did America become so easily offended? Political correctness is not only ruining comedy, its ruining America.

However, before Jerry Seinfeld is given a medal for anti-PC speech, isn’t he the same individual who canceled on a Donald Trump Foundation event that benefited the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital because Trump questioned whether Obama was born in America? Hey Jerry, why so serious?

From Breitbart.com:

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld appeared on ESPNU and ESPN Radio’s “The Herd with Colin Cowherd” on Thursday and spoke on how other comedians have told him to not do comedy at college campuses because they are so politically correct now.

According to Seinfeld, people do not even know what they are talking about when they throw out terms such as “racist” or “sexist” and this has made its way into colleges, making them too politically correct to do comedy.

“I don’t play colleges but I hear a lot of people tell me, ‘Don’t go near colleges, they’re so pc.’ My daughter’s 14. My wife says to her, ‘Well, you know, in the next couple of years, I think maybe you’re going to want to hang around the city more on the weekends so you can see boys.’ You know, my daughter says, ‘That’s sexist.’ They just want to use these words. ‘That’s racist. That’s sexist. That’s prejudice.’ They don’t even know what they’re talking about.”

Fouled Mouth ESPN Reporter Britt McHenry Suspended for a Week After Berating Parking Lot Attendant After Car was Towed … “Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me, huh?” (VIDEO)

ESPN SHOULD BE SO PROUD …

A  foul-mouthed ESPN reporter Britt McHenry went off on a tirade as she recovered her car from an impound lot after her car had been towed. Personally, I can understand that some one is upset in dealing with a tow truck company and getting one’s car back because it is an ordeal and a pain in the butt; however, McHenry’s personal attack on the individual just doing her jon was completely uncalled for. Advanced Towing has an “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau, but with that being said, McHenry did not have to take her attack out on the employee. The VIDEO, that went viral, showed Britt McHenry going off on the female attendant as she insulted and mocked the attendant’s job, education and physical appearance after her car was towed earlier this month in Arlington, Virginia. Among her insults were, “I’m in the news, sweetheart, I will f—ing sue this place.”  … “I’m on television, and you’re in a f—ing trailer, honey.”  …  refered  to the attendant as a “college dropout.”“Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me, huh?” … and  “Lose some weight, baby girl.”

ESPN has suspended Britt McHenry for a week. WOW, a week? That will teach her. The 28 year old Britt McHenry attended Stetson University in Deland, Florida and received a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University; however, even though she attended class, it appears that she learned nothing about having class. What is even more amazing is that McHenry was told that she was being videoed and that did not shut her up from embarrassing herself. As Britt McHenry continued her verbal assault on the woman and said, “Why, cause I have a brain and you don’t” all I could think of was I wish the female attendant had said back to her, you may have a brain but you don’t seem to have your car.

New York Post:

The sidelined reporter — who tweeted and then deleted that Advanced Towing was “corrupt” on April 6 — can be seen on security footage nastily explaining why she’s a more worthy human being.

“I’m on television, and you’re in a f—ing trailer, honey,” she later says, even referring to the attendant as a “college dropout.”

McHenry, 28, attended Stetson University in Deland, Fla., and received a master’s degree in journalism from Northwestern University.

The edited clip plays like a highlight reel of jabs and insults as McHenry, who joined ESPN in March 2014, attacks the looks of her prey, who is off-camera.

“Maybe if I was missing some teeth they would hire me, huh?” she asks.

But wait, there’s more. The reporter gets in a final dig before walking away: “Lose some weight, baby girl.”

McHenry apologized for her behavior Thursday after the video went viral.

“In an intense and stressful moment, I allowed my emotions to get the best of me and said some insulting and regrettable things,” McHenry wrote on Twitter.

“As frustrated as I was, I should always choose to be respectful and take the high road. I am so sorry for my actions and will learn from this mistake.

Taking the high road Britt, you mean like what you had previously asked others to do?

Britt McHenry, the foul-mouthed ESPN reporter who was suspended for her bullying tirade, urged her Facebook friends to be kind and compassionate — just days before she verbally attacked a Virginia parking lot attendee.

“Take the high road and be nice to people,” she posted on Facebook on March 29. “Amazing how a small kind gesture can go so far, yet similarly so can the impact of negative words. Don’t choose the latter.”

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith Says, ‘I Dream … Every Black Person in America Vote Republican’ at Impact Symposium at Vanderbilt University (VIDEO)

Stephen A. Smith is never at a loss for words and this time nails it 100% …

ESPN’s Stephen A. Smith said at an Impact Symposium at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, “What I dream is that for one election, just one, every black person in America vote Republican.” Never afraid to tackle controversial topics, Stephen A. Smith may have just given one of his most insightful points of view that even his counterpart on ‘First Take’ Skip Bayless would have to agree with. Stephen A. Smith’s comment makes complete and total sense if you look at it as opposed to the knee-jerk reaction he will get from the LEFT and many blacks. I have said for years, why do blacks vote for just one party, a Democrat party that was far from good to blacks in America, see pre-Civil War. The fact of the matter is, anyone who puts all their eggs in one basket are setting themselves up for failure. Who looks at one car, one house, one computer, one job and says without looking at anything else or questioning anything … I’ll take it.

When a political party knows they have you in your back pocket and knows they can take you for granted and still get your vote, that is true disenfranchisement and you are finished. The Democrat party knows that will get 85-90% of the black vote and not lift a finger for it. It’s expected. The only question is whether black America will listen to  Stephen A. Smith’s words.

MUST SEE VIDEO …

Breitbart.com

“What I dream is that for one election, just one, every black person in America vote Republican,” he said. “Because from what I’ve read, and I’m open to correction, but from what I’ve read, Barry Goldwater is going against Lyndon B. Johnson. He’s your Republican candidate. He is completely against the Civil Rights Movement. Lyndon B. Johnson was in favor of it. What happens is, he wins office, Barry Goldwater loses office, but there was a senate, a Republican senate, that pushed the votes to the president’s desk. It was the Democrats who were against Civil Rights legislation. So because President Lyndon B. Johnson was a Democrat, black America assumed the Democrats were for it.”

He also added, “Black folks in America are telling one party, ‘We don’t give a damn about you.’ They’re telling the other party ‘You’ve got our vote.’ Therefore, you have labeled yourself ‘disenfranchised’ because one party knows they’ve got you under their thumb. The other party knows they’ll never get you and nobody comes to address your interest.”

I would add, if Republicans continue to do the same to Conservatives … Conservativees should do the same and teach the establishment GOP a lesson they will never forget.
