- For the 13th year in a row, Fox tops cable news with CNN and MSNBC in the cellar. CNN ratings are at an all time low in 2014.
THE WINNER AND STILL CHAMPION …
For the 13th year in a row, the FOX News channel is the most watched cable news network for 2014 outdistancing the competition by a long shot. It is pretty bad when all three competitors CNN, MSNBC and HLN do not combined add up to FOX’s numbers.
As 2014 draws to a close, FNC celebrates its 13th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network, though it too had its disappointments. In total day, FNC is down 4% in total viewers (1.05 million) and same percent in news demo viewers, though it finished laps ahead of its competition in both metrics.
FNC rings out the year ranked No. 4 among ad-supported basic cable networks in overall primetime audience, behind only ESPN, USA Network and TNT; it also ranks No. 4 in total. CNN and MSNBC are way back in the 20s and 30s.
“We’re going to keep opening up our aperture, while investing in original reporting on the broad range of stories that move and inspire Americans,” Griffin said in that memo to staff and LAT.
Fox News remained on top in 2014, capping off its 13th consecutive year as the most-watched cable news network among both total viewers and the A25-54 demo. FNC averaged 1.05 million total viewers and 213,000 in the demo. FNC beat CNN and MSNBC combined in both total day and in primetime in viewers
The ratings for 2014 (Nielsen Live + Same Day data):
- Primetime (Mon-Sun): 1,748,000 total viewers / 300,000 A25-54
- Total Day Mon-Sun): 1,050,000 total viewers / 213,000 A25-54
MSLSD MSNBS MSNBC had a terrible 2014.
2014 not only saw MSNBC’s ratings drop more than any other cable news network, but it was also the year it finally started to trail CNN in most major metrics.
In the primetime demo, MSNBC was down 17% to 169K, putting it solidly in third place. In primetime total viewers, MSNBC held on to second place but still fell 8% to 589K. The network’s total day numbers are even worse, dropping 18% in the demo to just 108K and 12% in total viewers 347K.
Despite being MSNBC’s highest-rated hour, The Rachel Maddow Show at 9 p.m. still hit all-time lows since its 2008 debut with 843K total viewers (down 2% compared to 2013) and 196K viewers in the demo (down 18%). Those drops were nothing compared to Morning Joe, which had its lowest-rated full year on record with 347K total viewers (down 15%) and just 100K viewers in the demo (down 26%).
Ben Shapiro of Breitbart News Nails It … Ferguson, MO Grand Jury Verdict of No Indictment for Officer Wilson Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative
THE LYING LIBERAL MEDIA HAS THEIR FALSE RACIAL NARRATIVE EXPOSED …
For a great read of a post-analysis of what transpired in Ferguson, Missouri and the liberal media’s lying racial narrative being exposed for the garbage it was, check out Ben Shapiro’s, Senior Editor-At-Large of Breitbart News, article at Breitbart.com … ‘Ferguson Verdict Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative.’ As many times before, the MSM tried to create a story that belied the facts. The media ran with an out of control white cop who killed an innocent and unarmed black young man, a “gentle giant.” They ran with the story, not because it was true, but because they wanted it to be true. It gets old that we are continually told the same race-baiting story. It is Ben Shapiro’s final analysis that nails the media for the lie that their racial narrative truly is. Believe it or not, “every black man shot by police is not a Selma marcher.”
Truthfully, the angry and sullen reactions of those who wanted Wilson tried are understandable. They’re understandable because most Americans live in the evidence-free narrative created by malicious media liars, and the politicians they enable. They live in the evidence-free world of the political left, which maintains that America remains deeply racist, that every white cop is Bull Connor, and that every black man shot by police is a Selma marcher. So long as they live in that world, racial reconciliation will remain a dream, and racial polarization will remain a tool of the political and media elite to sell papers, raise cash, and drive votes.
Ferguson Verdict Explodes Media’s Lying Racial Narrative:
Just as the media did during the George Zimmerman trial and in the aftermath of Zimmerman’s shooting of Trayvon Martin, the media attempted to cram the square peg of the Wilson-Brown shooting into the round hole of white police racism. That meant portraying Brown as the latest sainted racial victim; this time, rather than the Trayvon Martin narrative of hoodies, Skittles, and iced tea, the media hit upon the notion that Brown was a “gentle giant.” The Brown family, Al Sharpton, MSNBC, CNN, The Washington Post, and other major media outlets ran with the story that Brown was a “gentle giant” who wouldn’t hurt a fly.
Then, it turned out that Brown had robbed a convenience store minutes before his altercation with Wilson.
Similarly, the media trotted out the story of Dorian Johnson, Brown’s friend, who said that Brown held his hands up in surrender after being shot in the back, and that Wilson executed Brown. The entire media ran with that one originally; the lie spawned an entire “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” movement. Of course, it later turned out that Johnson had helped Brown rob the store, and that all available autopsy evidence contradicted Johnson’s story.
But never mind: the media had somehow turned the true story of Michael Brown – the story of a 6’5”, 289-lb. 18-year-old strong-arm-robbing a convenience store, confronting a police officer and attempting to take his gun, running away, turning back to charge that officer, and being shot multiple times – into the story of Emmett Till. Never mind that there was not a single shred of evidence suggesting that Wilson targeted Brown based on race; never mind that Brown matched the description of the robbery suspect because he was the robbery suspect; never mind that Brown attacked an officer twice. No, this was a pre-ordained narrative for the media: white racist police officer strikes down young black unarmed man. The result of that overwrought and outright false media-generated controversy: extended riots in Ferguson.
The story beat the facts. So the media ran with the story.
So did President Obama. In 2013, Obama told America that Trayvon Martin could have been his son; in this case, Obama told the United Nations that riots in Ferguson represented America’s nasty racial legacy.
As the grand jury verdict neared release, the media built up the story. We were warned of riots if Wilson escaped indictment; Erin Burnett of CNN said that such a verdict would be the “nuclear option.” Nancy Grace of Court TV helpfully added that Michael Brown’s height did not “mean he was a violent teen.” And the Brown family attorney, Benjamin Crump, openly stated that the grand jury was corrupt, long before the verdict.
Predictably enough, the Michael Brown case fell apart the moment it hit the legal system. It turns out, as Robert McCulloch said, that evidence still trumps media hype in the legal system – at least sometimes.

Lawrence O’Donnell of MSNBC on Barack Obama’s Immigration Plan (VIDEO) … “I Haven’t Found a Single Elected Democrat in Washington” that Can Legally Justify It
HMM … EVEN LAWRENCE O’DONNELL OF
MSLSD MSNBS MSNBC HAS ISSUES WITH WHAT BARACK OBAMA INTENDS TO DO AND QUESTIONS ITS LEGALITY …
This does not happen very often, a host at MSNBC has a lucid moment. Although he bypassed many parts of Barack Obama’s intended immigration changes, even though they are Unconstitutional, Lawrence O’Donnell questioned his panel to give him the legal justification. O’Donnell states, I have not found a single elected Democrat in Washington that could give me the legal justification that allows Obama to do this. You know it is mad when even MSNBC questions a Democrat president.
Liberal Media Double Standard: MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski of The Morning Joe … “If Gruber Were Republican, MSM Would Be Exploding”
I GIVE HER CREDIT, MSNBC’S MIKA BREZEZINKI SAYS … HAD GRUBER BEEN A REPUBLICAN, THE MSM WOULD BE EXPLODING.
The liberal media has avoided the Jonathon Gruber story like Ebola. As VIDEO after VIDEO after VIDEO after VIDEO appear of Gruber, the MIT professor who was also one of the architects and consultants of Obamacare, the liberal media Democrat complex is no where to be found. It is as if the liberal MSM was sucked into a black hole or were suddenly all put in the witness protection program as there has been a “virtual black out” of all Gruber’s remarks as to how Obamacare was passed. What’s the matter, is the media afraid of the truth? Or is it that they know they have now been nailed for the Obama water-carrying sycophants that they are?
You have to give credit where credit is due, even though the Libs at MSNBC tried to down play this. Sorry, Obamacare was the greatest HOAX ever perpetrated on the American people.
MIKA BRZEZINSKI: This Obamacare story, which I saw yesterday and I’m surprised it didn’t emerge . . . It’s an interesting dynamic. This broke yesterday, we kind of, were trying to get to it. Nobody covered it except for some right-wing outlets. Had this been a Republican, what do you think would have happened?
MIKE BARNICLE: Well, he is, this century’s version of David Stockman, who was Ronald Reagan’s original budget director. In 1981, in an extensive magazine piece in the old Atlantic magazine by Bill Greider, former Washington Post editor, David Stockman sat down with him. He was Reagan’s budget director, sat down with Bill Greider for many, many times, to explain the budget. And he said, basically, none of us really understands what any of these numbers are all about, the federal budget.
BRZEZINSKI: [facetiously] So let me guess, nobody dealt with it, right?
BARNICLE: President Reagan had no idea what those numbers were all about.
BRZEZINSKI: Just a few left-wing bloggers brought it up, right? It wasn’t covered? I think there was a huge firestorm, I believe.
HOWARD DEAN: There was.
BRZEZINSKI: Exactly, that’s my point!
BRZEZINSKI: That was a huge gaffe, right? We can all agree on that. I do think had it been a Republican, the media would be exploding.
DEAN: I think there’s a big stature gaffe between the office, the Director of the OMB and a consultant for the — that’s why it’s not a big deal.
BRZEZINSKI: Okay, that’s fair.
WOW, MSNBC’s Chris Matthews & Al Sharpton Tear Into Kentucky Democrat Senate Loser Alison Lundergan Grimes Concession Speech … “You Need to Be Gracious!”
WOW, WHO WOULD HAVE EXPECTED THE FOLLOWING FROM THE FOLKS AT MSNBC … CAMPAIGN COVERAGE AT MSLSD HAVE A MOMENT OF LUCIDITY.
How bad was the election tsunami and tidal wave that ripped through the Democrat party and Barack Obama last night during the 2014 midterm that saw the GOP pick up at least 7 US Senate seats, possibly 9, at least 12 House seats and governorships in places like Massachusetts, Illinois and Maryland … the MSNBC election coverage team of Chris Matthews and Al Sharpton ripped into Alison Lundergan Grimes for her concession speech, following her Kentucky Senate drubbing at the hands of Mitch McConnell 56% to 41%. Her concession speech was hardly gracious.
I have to give credit where credit is due, Matthews and Sharpton were spot on in their analysis.
“That wasn’t your usual concession speech,” Chris Matthews began. “Usually you congratulate the winner. You say something gracious. You move on. You unify the state to some extent. It was a partisan speech. Fair enough, it’s her call,” he added.
“It wasn’t a concession speech. Usually, you concede,” Al Sharpton added, noting that she made the Democrats turn on her when she infamously refused to say whether she voted for Obama during an editorial board Q&A. “You can represent what you represent. But you respect the winner, and you pledge to move on together.”
Rachel Maddow thought that Grimes may have been “shellshocked” by how badly she lost (polls showed her running neck-in-neck with McConnell) and Chris Hayes added that McConnell’s entire strategy was to tie her to the deeply-maligned President. “She was unable to say that she voted for Barack Obama was because Barack Obama is deeply unpopular,” he pointed out.
You can watch Grimes not-so concession speech HERE. This is what happens when you have delusion views and try and win at all cost, but cant even say who you voted for. Stay classy Alison, although last night was hardly one of your shining moments. I guess the good folks of Kentucky saw your true colors in defeat, a resounding defeat.
Sour Grapes at MSNBC after Republican Mitch McConnell Defeats Their Lib Alison Lundergan Grimes … “She Had the Audacity to Run”
NO TINGLES UP HIS LEG TONIGHT, BA-HA,HA,HA … BETTER CALL THE WAHMBULANCE FOR MATTHEWS.
There may actually be only one thing better than watching a big night for the GOP in a political election and that is watching the liberal-Left lose their minds over at MSLSD and whine about their candidates lose. Chris Matthews was obviously not feeling the tingles up his leg tonight as he bitterly stated, “She had the audacity to run against this incredibly powerful incumbent with all the tricky moves up his sleeves, and sarcasm and ridicule … She’ll be back”. Then another liberal ass-hat went on to make a ridiculous comparison to McConnell’s victory to that of Harry Reid’s win by the seat of his pants. Hey folks at MSNBC, I realize that your math skills may not be top notch due to common core,
McConnell won his race despite Kentucky voters’ negative views of him. The Republican incumbent has a 52% unfavorable rating to just 46% favorable in the NBC News exit poll, which is usually dangerous territory for a sitting senator. Fortunately for McConnell, Grimes fell short of the challenge.
Fell short? Sorry, but this was far from a close race in the end. One might think it was made bigger because the liberal MSM wanted to make it appear closer than it really was.

Bill O’Reilly Blasts the MSM Coverage of Ferguson, MO News Coverage of the Michael Brown Shooting (VIDEO) … Calls Out Looting Thugs, Charlatan Al Sharpton and Liberal Media
O’REILLY SLAMS THE FERGUSON, MO OPPORTUNISTS …
Bill O’Reilly returned from vacation to put forth the below ‘Talking Point Memo,’ maybe one of his best in a long, long time. O’Reilly discussed the situation in Ferguson, Missouri since the death of Michael Brown on August 9 and blasted the liberal MSM for their bias reporting and ripped the likes of Al Sharpton, calling him a charlatan.
Al Sharpton has the nerve to insult the American police community, men and women risking their lives to protect us. This charlatan has the gall to do that and NBC News is paying him. My god! Why is that acceptable?”
Something Al Sharpton will never give him because Sharpton only cares about his own self-aggrandizement and if he has to stoke racial hatred to get that, that’s what Sharpton will do. I know this man. His record defines him. Yet, he has succeeded in bringing his brand of racial grievance to the White House.
[T]o the race hustlers, Officer Wilson is already guilty. They have convicted him. There slogan is no justice, no peace. I guess that’s lynch mob justice because if those people will never accept anything other than a conviction of murder in this case. They don’t really care what happened. They want Officer Wilson punished and he should be punished if he murdered Michael Brown.
Many of the others are trouble makers who just streamed into town, but the liberal media will never report that. Nor will they report the true picture of criminal justice in the U.S.A.
Go figure, who would have thunk it?
A recent Brookings and Public Religion Research Institute poll seeks to name the most “Trusted name in News”. Needless to say, MSNBC was not it, in fact they were the least trusted name in TV news. Fox News Channel was ranked as the most trusted name overall with 25% of respondents. The Washington Free Beacon reports, MSNBC was also the worst choice among independents (4 percent) and moderates (5 percent), getting thumped by Fox News in both categories.
Among all Americans surveyed, only 5% identify MSNBC as their “most trusted” TV news outlet, while Fox (25%), broadcast networks (23%), and CNN (21%) make up the top three. Now, of course, the argument could be made that MSNBC’s just trusted by the fewest because of exposure (CNN and Fox are much bigger household names; and broadcast networks are still the dominant news outlets in the ratings).
Also interesting is the fact that despite Jon Stewart‘s reputation as being the news source for younger demographics, among all age ranges, he only garners 8% of people’s “most trusted” label.
