S&P 500, Nasdaq Surge to Record Highs, DOW Up 250+ as US and Mexico Strike Trade Deal

ANOTHER WIN FOR PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP AND AMERICA …

The Trump administration and Mexico have negotiated a new trade deal to replace NAFTA and the markets are gaining in a huge way. Candidate Trump promised during the 2016 presidential campaign that he would end NAFTA and replace it with a better deal for America and American workers. He has done it! And the markets loved it and surged on the news. The S&P 500 gained 0.8% to close at 2,896.74, a record high. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.9% to an all-time high, breaking above 8,000 points for the first time. The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 259.29 points to 26,049.64.

Stocks jumped on Monday as the United States and Mexico closed a new trade deal, potentially removing a source of uncertainty that had been plaguing investors for months.

The S&P 500 gained 0.8 percent to close at 2,896.74 — a record high — with materials and financials as the best-performing sectors. The Nasdaq Composite climbed 0.9 percent to an all-time high, breaking above 8,000 points for the first time, as Facebook, Amazon, Netflix and Alphabet rose. Tech’s gains led the Nasdaq to close at 8,017.90.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose 259.29 points to 26,049.64 as Caterpillar outperformed. Monday also marked the first time since Feb. 1 that the Dow closed above 26,000.

“The market has been buffeted with a lot of headwinds lately, and the biggest one is trade,” said Art Hogan, chief market strategist at B. Riley FBR. “If you were to take trade out of the picture, you would have a smoother ride higher in this market.”

President Donald Trump said the deal would be called The United States-Mexico Trade agreement, leaving behind the 24-year-old NAFTA name. “The name NAFTA has a bad connotation because the United States was hurt very badly by NAFTA,” he said. Trump added that the deal with Mexico is also very helpful for farmers and manufacturers. U.S. Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer said the deal must be approved by Congress before being implemented.

Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking Poll … President Trump at 50%

HARD TO BELIEVE AFTER ALL THE NEGATIVE, BIAS NEWS COVERAGE …

According to the most recent Rasmussen Daily Presidential Tracking poll, President Donald Trump has a 50% approval rating among U.S likely voters. Heading into the 2018 midterm elections, Trump has wind in his sails and the American economy is roaring. After all of the bias, fake news against Trump by the liberal mainstream media, Trumps actions speak louder than their words. Trump rally is “Making America Great Again,” and the people are starting to realize it.

Donald Trump thumbs up

The Rasmussen Reports daily Presidential Tracking Poll for Tuesday shows that 50% of Likely U.S. Voters approve of President Trump’s job performance. Forty-nine percent (49%) disapprove.

The latest figures include 35% who Strongly Approve of the way the president is performing and 40% who Strongly Disapprove. This gives him a Presidential Approval Index rating of -5. (see trends).

73% of Democrats Want ‘A Fresh Face’ As 2020 Presidential Nominee, But Who?

DEMOCRATS WANT A NEW FACE, BUT WHO?

According to a recent Rasmussen poll, Democrats want a fresh face as a 2020 presidential nominee; however, they have nothing. This is easier said than done as the Democrats have no bench. In the eight years of Obama, the Democrat party was decimated. It was only Obama who benefited. Democrats say they want a new face, yet according to a recent Harvard/Harris poll, the top three favorites for a presidential run were former Vice President Joe Biden, Hilary Clinton and Bernie Sanders. So who is it that could possible run? Will the old guard step aside and let the next generation replace them. Is that possible when Democrat politicians find it so hard to give up their power?

Question mark

Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden are among those touted as serious Democratic presidential contenders in 2020, but three-out-of-four Democrats think their party needs to turn to someone new.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone and online survey finds that 73% of Likely Democratic Voters believe their party should look for a fresh face to run for president in 2020. Just 16% disagree and think the party should promote a candidate who has already run in the past. Eleven percent (11%) are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

As for Clinton, 58% now believe she has been bad for the Democratic Party. Only 22% think she’s been good for Democrats, while 12% say she’s had no impact on the party.

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) Questions I.G. Horowitz During House Judiciary Committee Hearing … Strzok Hated Trump Yet He Was Investigating Him? (VIDEO)

Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) eviscerated Peter Strzok …

Rep. Jim Jordan pretty much summed up the entire line of questioning and bias when it came to FBI Peter Strzok when Jordan stated, “the guy who hates the President, the guy who ran the Clinton investigation, the guy who ran the Russian investigation then gets assigned to the Special Counsel team?” Imagine that. The Special Counsel was named on May 17, 2017. On May 18, 2017, one day later Peter Strzok said on page 405 that this could be an investigation that could lead to impeachment.

IG Report Strzok pg 405

Jordan asks Horowitz, “dont you think that sounds and looks like to regular American people than just casting a cloud on the overall investigations? Then Jordan stated, what bothers me most is Peter Strzok’s attitude (4:20). Its what bothers Americans about this whole ordeal. Peter Strzok texts on Aug 26, 2016, “I just went to a Southern Virginia Walmart, I can smell the Trump supporters.” This is the arrogance, condescension and elitism of the FBI and why Americans are so mad. There are two sets of standards.

IG Horowitz Confirms Comey Under Investigation For Mishandling of Classified Memos

AND YOU WONDER WHY COMEY HAS GONE QUIET …

Inspector General Horowitz confirmed Monday during a Congressional hearing that former FBI Director James Comey is under investigation for his handling of classified information. James Comey is in a world of trouble.  Former FBI Director Comey penned 7 memos stemming from 9 conversations with President Trump of which at least 4 of 7 of the memos contained classified information. A fired Comey then gave contents of his memos to his friend Daniel Richman to leak to the New York Times. The purpose of this was to prompt a Special Counsel, which is what occurred. It would appear those leaked memos are now being investigated by the IG.

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz confirmed publicly Monday that his office is investigating James Comey for his handling of classified information as part of memos he shared documenting discussions with President Trump.

The inspector general’s comments confirmed reports dating back to April that the ex-FBI director was facing scrutiny, amid revelations that at least two of the memos he shared with his friend, Columbia University Professor Daniel Richman, contained information now deemed classified.

The confirmation came during Monday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, where Horowitz and FBI Director Christopher Wray testified on the findings in the IG’s report on the handling of the Hillary Clinton email probe.
