THE FANS # 1 Player … Alejandro Villanueva, the One Steeler Who Stood for Anthem Now Has Best-Selling NFL Jersey

WAKE THE HELL UP NFL … LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO THE ONE PLAYER WHO ACTUALLY STOOD FOR THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

Wanna know what a real hero and patriot looks like? Prior the the game on Sunday at of all places Soldier Field in Chicago, Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva decided to honor his team, his military band of brothers in arms, rather than a sports team, and stood for the National Anthem in the tunnel. This is what a hero looks like. Standing by yourself as all others act like sheep. The result of his heroic and respectful actions, his jersey became the best-selling player in the NFL by midday Monday. Talk about putting things in perspective. Alejandro Villanueva was criticized by his coach and by some players by not doing what the rest of the team voted on. However, this man, this former Army Ranger who earned a Bronze Star and served three tours in Afghanistan served with a much more important team. It was that TEAM who defend and protect our way of life. NFL fans get it, sadly the NFL, owners and the players do not. When an offensive lineman’s jersey becomes the #1 seller ahead of New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, what does that tell you NFL?

The NFL better get their act in gear and soon, otherwise you will be dead to many of us fans forever.

Pittsburgh Steelers offensive lineman Alejandro Villanueva became the best-selling player in the NFL by midday Monday.

A spokesman for Fanatics, which runs the NFL’s online store, confirmed to ESPN that, over the past 24 hours, more Villanueva gear, including jerseys and name and number T-shirts, has been ordered than that of any other NFL player.

Villanueva beat out New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady for the top spot. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers rounded out the top five over the past day.

Both the NFL Shop and Fanatics websites had Villanueva jerseys and T-shirts in men’s and women’s sizes.

A former Army Ranger who earned a Bronze Star and served three tours in Afghanistan, Villanueva was the only Steelers player who came outside the tunnel during Sunday’s national anthem, after the team collectively decided not to be on the sideline during the song. Pictures and video of Villanueva standing, with his hand on his heart, filled social media networks.

His actions weren’t supported by all, including his own coach. Asked after the Steelers’ 23-17 loss to the Chicago Bears what he thought of Villanueva’s positioning for the anthem, Mike Tomlin responded, “I was looking for 100 percent participation. We were gonna be respectful of our football team.”

The NFL is about to learn a real tough lesson and that is they are not bigger that the United States. Their players are not heroes, those that defend our freedoms are. Their players are not role models, they are over-paid, spoiled millionaires who doesn’t have a clue as to what true sacrifice means. Americans and fans know the difference. The NFL is entertainment, not politics. It is supposed to be a diversion away from division and hateful politics. Thank you so little for ruining it. You could have nipped this in the bud last year, but the coward NFL commissioner was too busy with over-infalted balls and the owners were too busy hiding and making money.

9/11/17: Vice President Mike Pence Delivers Moving Speech in Shanksville, PA Flight 93 (VIDEO) … “Its a debt I don’t think I will ever be able to repay.”

WE GRIEVE WITH EVERY FAMILY OF THE INNOCENT SOULS WHO WERE MURDERED BY TERRORISTS THAT DAY AND WE WILL NEVER FORGET WHAT HAPPENED ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001 …

Vice President honors the heroes of Flight 93 … Many suspect that the target of the fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93, was the U.S. Capitol  where Pence was serving his first term in Congress. Vice President Pence said, the heroic actions of innocent passengers onboard the plane, who stormed the cockpit in an attempt to wrestle control from the hijackers, is “a debt I don’t think I will ever be able to repay.”

Please watch this amazing speech honoring the heroes of Flight 93 from a man whose live was most likely saved that day.

The Washington Examiner:

“It was the longest 12 minutes of my life, then it turned to 13 minutes, then 14. And then we were informed that the plane had gone down in a field in Pennsylvania,” Pence said Monday at the site of the crash in Shanksville, Pa., where a memorial now stands.

Pence was serving his first term in Congress when terrorists hijacked four planes on 9/11 and carried out attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. He was at the U.S. Capitol that day, which officials suspect was the target of the fourth plane, United Airlines Flight 93.

The vice president said the heroic actions of innocent passengers onboard the plane, who stormed the cockpit in an attempt to wrestle control from the hijackers, is “a debt I don’t think I will ever be able to repay.”

“I was standing near the East Wing of the House of Representatives,” Pence recalled. “I will always believe that I, and many others in our nation’s capital, were able to get home that day to hug our families because of the courage and selflessness of the heroes of Flight 93.”

“The American people will forever be inspired by their courage and resolve,” he said. “We honor them by remembering them… and by doing everything in our power as a nation to prevent such evil from ever reaching our shores again.”

On this Memorial Day 2017, Scared Monkeys sends a special thank you to all of the military men, woman and their families who made the ultimate sacrificed so that We, the United States of America, could remain the home of the free because of the brave. We thank those who gave their lives in the name of liberty and freedom from the bottom of our hearts. We can no longer than them in person, but we can honor their sacrifices to this great Country. Thank you and God Bless you, we shall never forget you your service and sacrifice. Please take time today to remember what this day is truly about and the men and women that we have lost.

Remembering my uncle and all the brave heroes who sacrificed so much … I can remember like it was yesterday, but in fact it was more than 25 years ago, when I stood in Arlington National Cemetery for the funeral of my Uncle and namesake. I can remember the sound of Taps and the 21 gun salute as tears flowed down my face as I laid to rest my hero and a man that gave so much for his country and for me. A man who was the toughest and most honorable, proud and yet humble man I have ever known. God bless all.

In 2016, I rode the 1st annual Saskatchewan Ride to Remember law enforcement cycling event from Saskatoon Police HQ to the Regina Parliament grounds approx 320km to honor fallen officers who lost their lives in the line of duty. At the end of the ride, we took part in the Saskatchewan Police & Peace Officer’s Memorial situated at the Saskatchewan Parliament grounds. The focus of my ride in 2016 was to honor Derek. This year in 2017, upon speaking with Derek’s wife Natasha, we would like to invite and bring Derek’s son, Kayleb to ride alongside the Ride to Remember to honor his dad.
