Gas Prices Expected to Surge Again Soon Due to Unrest in Egypt and Drop in Supply

Just what we needed for the rest of the summer as individuals try and take vacations the rest of the Summer or have to commute to work. Gas prices are expected to rise due to the unrest in the Middle East in Egypt and a drop in oil supplies.

Gas prices are heading up again.

Rising crude oil prices and a fall in U.S. supplies are driving wholesale gas prices up sharply. That has yet to be fully reflected at the retail level.

Prices at the pump — up 4 cents the past week to a national average of $3.52 a gallon — could climb another 15 cents or higher over the next two weeks. A year ago, the national average was $3.38.

“It’s getting ugly,” says Patrick DeHaan, senior analyst for GasBuddy.com. “First and foremost, the political problems in Egypt are driving crude oil prices, but there has also been a sharp drop in oil supplies the past two weeks. This is coming at a time when demand is at its annual July peak.”

Mayor Bloomberg & NYC Marathon Shamed into Canceling Race

In the end, the New York City Marathon has been canceled and will not be “run” on Sunday. Just hours after a fool-hearty Mayor Bloomberg supported the decision for the race to go forward, he backtracked on that decision after much criticism. However, the fact that the marathon was even contemplated to go forward shows just how little politicians really think of “We the People”.

“We would not want a cloud to hang over the race or its participants, and so we have decided to cancel it,” Bloomberg added. “We cannot allow a controversy over an athletic event — even one as meaningful as this — to distract attention away from all the critically important work that is being done to recover from the storm and get our city back on track.”

A note to Mayor Bloomberg, not sporting event is as important as the disaster, death and destruction of “We the People”. What fool actually thought that the NYC Marathon should have been run at all as individuals in the five boroughs of New York are struggling after Hurricane Sandy? We have seen nothing but death and destruction in the wake of Hurricane Sandy and contrary to Obama’s photo-ops and playing president, local politicians patting themselves on the back for a job well done … ALL IS NOT WELL!

How could anyone justifying going forward with a stupid road race as those in NY struggle to find food and water? They are without power, gas and heat and Bloomberg originally wanted to have a “Let them eat cake” moment and go ahead with a marathon? UNBELIEVABLE. Were the runners supposed to dodge the debris and bodies long the route? Were the runners supposed to grab water at marathon water stops as victims of Sandy did without? More than that, how did anyone justify bring people into NYC, filling up hotel rooms and using NYC resources as its citizens cried out for help?

Of course the race should not go forward and thankfully some one was shamed into canceling it. What would the reaction have been to run a marathon following Hurricane Katrina? No Sandy was not Katrina, but can we at least find the missing and the dead following the wrath of Sandy before the high and mighty decide to go for a jog?

The gas prices have more than doubled, $1.84 to $3.85, since Obama took office, yet the silence in deafening from the MSM informing America. The corrupt liberal media complex is so in the tank, pardon the pun, that it would be simply unheard of for the media to remind America that they are not better off today than they were four years ago.

Average retail gasoline prices have more than doubled under President Obama, according to government statistics, rising from $1.84 per gallon to $3.85 per gallon.

The average gasoline price is calculated by the Energy Information Agency, and shows that over the past 43 months of President Obama’s term retail gasoline prices have more than doubled, rising from an average of $1.84 per gallon to $3.85 per gallon.

Rising gasoline prices were particularly prevalent in August, which saw a 9.0 percent rise in the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for gasoline, a rise that almost entirely accounts for the general increase in prices seen by families across the country over the past month.

Obama Sets Another Record as President, Highest Gas Prices on Labor Day in US History

Democrats arrived in Charlotte on Monday to an ill-timed reminder of one of the issues plaguing President Barack Obama’s reelection bid: high gasoline prices.

Prices at the pump reached a national average of $3.83 Monday, according to AAA, setting a record high for a Labor Day. The previous Labor Day record of $3.69 was set in 2008, at the height of the last presidential election fight.

Gas prices have increased by 23 cents in the past month during the height of the summer driving season. But AAA predicts that Obama, who has faced sustained attacks from Republicans over gas prices, will get a respite in the coming weeks once refineries that shut down as a result of Hurricane Isaac reopen.

This President is just so funny. This morning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, President Barack Obama’s chief adviser David Axelrod refused to answer the question that all incumbent reelection campaigns have to, is America better off than they were four years ago? Instead, Axelrod did his best dodge that only Patches O’ Hoolihan of the movie ‘Dodgeball’ could have been proud of.  For Axelrod and Team Obama, “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a political question about the failed Obama economic policies”. Axelrod actually said, “that we are in a better position today than we were four years ago.”  This is what they are going to tell the American people? Seriously, how does an incumbent President not going to answer questions on his record? Axelrod and Obama actually think they are going to run the campaign based on the 5 D’s of Dodgeball … “dodge, dip, duck, dive and, um dodge”.

As stated at Hot Air, how pathetic and telling is it that the head of Obama’s reelection team suddenly goes mute and tries to run away from the question by talking about the tough environment Barack Obama inherited. Wallace used the following stats, Unemployment: 7.8% then, 8.3% now – Median income: $54,983 then, $50,964 now – Gas prices: $1.85 per gallon then, $3.78 now – National debt: $10.6 trillion then, $15.9 trillion now and expected to go over $16 trillion during the Democrat National Convention.

Also on ABC’s ‘This Week’ George Stephanopoulosasked Obama’s senior White House adviser David Plouffe whether Americans are better off today than they were four years ago. Plouffe also dodged the question as he was taught as opined by the Lonely Conservative, if you can’t answer the question, just avoid it. In other words … “if you can dodge a car, you can dodge an economic question of the failed Obama presidency.

Asked the same question repeatedly host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week,” President Barack Obama’s senior White House adviser, David Plouffe, reverted to talking points about job creation and the failings of the Bush administration.

“We were this close to a Great Depression,” Plouffe said at one point, pinching his thumb to his index finger.

Stephanopoulos cut him short.

“You still can’t say yes,” he told Plouffe.

As Doug Ross stated, look for the Obama minions to only appear on the complicit, corrupt media complex and away from Fox News where they might actually be asked and expected to answer a question. Now the question is will the liberal, in the tank media and the moderators ask the question to Obama during the debates?
