Liberal Democrats, LGBT and MSM … You Do Realize that it was President Bill Clinton Who Signed into Law the Federal Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in 1993, Right?

TODAY’S DEMOCRATS PARTY IS NOT YOUR FATHER’S DEMOCRAT PARTY, HELL ITS NOT EVEN THE ONE OF 20 YEARS AGO.

Everyone needs to watch the VIDEO below of then Vice-President of the United States Al Gore and President William Jefferson Clinton comments and their gushing over the signing of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in 1993  (text of HR 1308)and then compare it to the reaction of the Democrat party of today. So as the LGBT crowd is losing their collective minds over the recent passage of Religious Freedom Restoration laws in Indiana and Arkansas with faux-rage, they act like there already is not a federal law that states the same thing and 19 other states that already have their own Religious Freedom Restoration laws. But instead they, Democrats and their willing accomplices in the MSM attack a small business like Memories Pizza instead.

Remember when the Democrat party actually believed in Freedom of Religion?

Let’s get some facts straight here as the LGBT community, Democrats and the MSM whine about the passage of a law that was supported by Democrats. Bill Clinton said in 1993 that the federal law would do a better job of protecting Americans of all faiths in the practice of their religion.

  • The bill was introduced by Congressman Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on March 11, 1993. You know, that same Chucky Schumer who is supposed to be the next Democrat Senate Minority Leader.
  • A companion bill was introduced in the Senate by Ted Kennedy (D-MA) the same day. Yes, Ted Kennedy, the Liberal Lion was for freedom of religion as well.
  • It passed 97-3 in the US Senate and on a voice vote in the House.
  • President Bill Clinton signed it into law.

Quotes from President Bill Clinton’s speech in signing the  Religious Freedom Restoration Act (RFRA) in 1993:

“It is interesting to note that what a broad coalition of Americans came together to make this bill a reality.”

“We all have a shared desire here to protect perhaps the most precious of all American liberties – religious freedom.”

“The free exercise of religion has been called the first freedom – that which originally sparked the full range of the Bill of Rights.”

“Today this event assumes a more majestic quality because of our ability together to affirm the historical role that people of faith have played in the history of this country, and the constitutional protections those that profess and express their faith have always demanded and cherished.”

“What this law basically says is that the government should be held to a very high level of proof before it interferes with someone’s free exercise of religion.” This judgement is shared by the people of the United States and Congress.”

“By honoring the principle that our laws and institutions should not impede or hinder , but should rather protect and preserve fundamental religious liberties.”

“Let us never believe that the freedom of religion imposes on any of us some responsibility to run from our convictions – let us instead respect one another’s faith.”

EXIT QUESTION: JUST CURIOUS, WHAT HAPPENED TO THE DEMICRAT PARTY THAT SO CHANGED THEIR VIEWS WHERE THEY WERE 100% BEHIND RFRA?

Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) Indicted on Corruption Charges

Even Democrats who go against the Obama agenda appear to be on Barack’s enemies list …

New Jersey US Senator Robert Menendez was indicted today with on corruption charges in that he used his office to help advance the business interests of a longtime friend and political supporter in exchange for luxury gifts, vacations and campaign donations.?  In total, Menendez faces a 14-count indictment consisting of 1 count of conspiracy, 1 count of violating the travel act, 7 counts of bribery, 3 counts of honest services fraud, and 1 count of making false statements.  Menendez has denied any wrongdoing and vows to fight the charges, stating that he will be vindicated.  While he will not leave office, Menendez will step aside from his position as the top Democrat on the Foreign Relations Committee as he fights the charges.

Sen. Robert Menendez (D-N.J.) was indicted on federal corruption charges Wednesday, accused of using the influence of his office to advance the business interests of a longtime friend and political supporter in exchange for luxury gifts, lavish vacations and more than $750,000 in campaign donations.?

Federal prosecutors laid out the charges in a 14-count indictment charging Menendez with using his office to help Salomon Melgen, a Florida-based eye doctor with whom Menendez had maintained a long personal and political friendship. Menendez intervened on Melgen’s behalf in at least two disputes, one with federal regulators over Medicare charges and the other involving a bid by Melgen to secure a port security contract in the Dominican Republic, according to the indictment.

Prosecutors say that over a seven-year period, Menendez relied on Melgen for free private jets to weekend getaways at resorts in Florida, the Dominican Republic and Paris.

Menendez has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. He was defiant Wednesday night before a boisterous crowd of supporters, saying that Melgen’s gifts were a result of friendship dating to the early 1990s and not in exchange for political favors.

Just curious, how much of the DOJ’s investigation and indictments against Menendez have to do with political wrongdoing and how much has to do with the fact that he has been a political thorn in Obama’s side? The Democrat Senator has been extremely vocal against Obama’s policy in Cuba and with Iran. Obama probably did not appreciate it when Mendeez said in a Senate Foreign Relations Committee back in January 2015, “the More I hear from the Obama administration and its quotes, the more it sounds like talking points that come straight out of Tehran.”  As much as I am not a big fan of Robert Menendez, his words have proved to be profound as we witness Obama’s disastrous nuclear plan with Iran.

Liberal Comedian Bill Maher Rips Deeply Stupid PC Liberals Like Media Matters … “Hey Media Matters Can I say One Thing to You, Shut the F*ck Up”

WOW, Uber-lib Bill Maher tells Media Matters to STFU …

What has happened lately to Bill Maher and his “fair & balanced” approach when it comes to criticizing liberals? During his most recent episode of HBO’s ‘Real Time with Bill Maher’ … the far Left liberal comedian ripped into “deeply stupid” PC liberals who cant take a joke and even went so far as to tell the far-LEFT Media Matters to “shut the f*ck up”. Go figure. Of course Maher’s idea of fair and balanced is mocking liberals 20% of the time on his show and conservatives 80%, up from 5% and 95%.

Maher said just like conservatives, liberals have crazies of their own they need to rein in. He brought up the controversy over the Economist cover on Latinos and how Media Matters covered it. The liberal media watchdog called it “a tired trope often used to confine the Hispanic community to oversimplified representation in the media.”

Maher reacted by telling Media Matters to “shut the f*ck up.”

He remarked, “How deeply stupid has the far-left become,” and said liberals just need to stop freaking out about every single little thing that doesn’t 100 percent conform to their worldview.

 (VIDEO WARNING: Strong language)

The Blaze:

Comedian Bill Maher went on a fiery diatribe against “deeply stupid” politically correct wing of liberalism on his show Friday, at one point telling far-left Media Matters to “shut the f*** up” with its fake outrage. Maher is very liberal himself and his comedic attacks are mostly aimed at Republicans and conservatives, but every now and then he goes after the left .

“Yes, we joke about everybody here. And that’s something a lot of liberals have forgotten how to do,” he added. “For folks who take such pride in their love of diversity, liberals increasingly seem to tolerate none in their own ranks. I don’t necessarily agree with Dolce and Gabbana, but what is the point of attacking people who are 95 percent on your side?”

He went on to mock celebrities like Courtney Love and Elton John who boycotted the brand over the comments.

But far-left Media Matters, a progressive media “watchdog,” got the brunt of Maher’s wrath for feigning outrage at an Economist cover that featured an American flag made of red peppers. Maher said the site claimed the cover “the sort of stereotype that ignores Latinos as a multifaceted community and relegates them to chili pepper consuming constituents.”

“Media Matters, can I say one thing to you? Shut the f*** up,” Maher said.

Democrat Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid to Retire … Will Not Seek Reelection in 2016

DINGY HARRY GONE IN 2016 …

The New York Times is reporting that 75 year old Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV) will not been seeking reelection in 2016. This will finally bring to an end Reid’s three decade Congressional career. Harry Reid has been a Nevada senator since 1986.  Since 2008 Reid had done nothing but put forth Obama’s agenda against the will of the people and made sure to block any and all GOP bills in the US Senate. Personally, I say good riddance. Lately Reid has become nothing more than a miserable and crotchety individual. He should have retired during his last Senate election. Reid suffered a serious eye and facial injuries in a January 1, 2015 at his Las Vegas home and has seemed to never have recovered. This will probably mean that Sen. Chucky Schumer will slide into the Minority leader position.

One of Dingy Harry’s more Classless moments in the Senate, with help from San Fran Nan

Senator Harry Reid, the tough tactician who has led Senate Democrats since 2005, will not seek re-election next year, bringing an end to a three-decade congressional career that culminated with his push of President Obama’s ambitious agenda against fierce Republican resistance.

Mr. Reid, 75, who suffered serious eye and facial injuries in a Jan. 1 exercise accident at his Las Vegas home, said he had been contemplating retiring from the Senate for months. He said his decision was not attributable either to the accident or to his demotion to minority leader after Democrats lost the majority in November’s midterm elections.

“I understand this place,” Mr. Reid said. “I have quite a bit of power as minority leader.”

Harry Reid_eye

He has already confounded the new Republican majority this year by holding Democrats united against a proposal to gut the Obama administration’s immigration policies as well as a human-trafficking measure Democrats objected to over an anti-abortion provision.

“I want to be able to go out at the top of my game,” said Mr. Reid, who used a sports metaphor about athletes who try to hang on too long. “I don’t want to be a 42-year-old trying to become a designated hitter.” …

I could not agree more with The American Spectator:

I can’t say that I’m sorry to see him go even if it means he’ll probably be replaced by Chuck Schumer. But there’s a good chance a Republican could win his seat though one wonders if his son Rory will seek the Democratic nomination.

Whether it was declaring the War in Iraq lost before the surge (VIDEO), his vicious personal attacks against Mitt Romney and the Koch Brothers on the Senate floor represent much of what is wrong with 21st century liberalism in America.

Reid’s date of expiration passed long, long ago.

Good riddance.
