James Holmes Convicted of First Degree Murder in 2012 Colorado Movie Theater Massacre in Aurora, Colorado
A jury has convicted James Holmes of First degree murder in the 2012 attack on defenseless movie goers in Aurora, Colorado where 12 people were killed. The jury also found Holmes guilty of attempted murder on all of the 140 counts against him for the 70 people wounded in the shooting. Hopefully, the next step will be that James Holmes is sentenced to death.
Jurors convicted Colorado theater shooter James Holmes on Thursday in the chilling 2012 attack on defenseless moviegoers at a midnight Batman premiere, rejecting defense arguments that the former graduate student was insane and driven to murder by delusions.
The 27-year-old Holmes, who had been working toward his Ph.D. in neuroscience, could get the death penalty for the massacre that left 12 people dead and dozens of others wounded.
Jurors took about 13 hours over a day and a half to review all 165 charges. The same panel must now decide whether Holmes should pay with his life.
4 Marines Killed in Attacks on Chattanooga, TN Military Facilities (Update: Shooter ID’d as 24 Year Old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez)
The AP is reporting that four U.S. Marines have been killed as a gunman unleashed a barrage of fire at a recruiting center and another U.S. military site a few miles apart in Chattanooga on Thursday. The shooter also was killed. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that the shooting suspect was identified as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. The FBI has taken charge of the investigation. The shooting attacks were carried out at the Army Recruiting Center on Lee highway in Chattanooga and the Naval and Marine Reserve Center at the Chattanooga Riverpark, locations that are only seven miles apart.
A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing four Marines and wounding two other service members and a police officer, officials told CBS News.
The shooter also was killed. Law enforcement sources told CBS News that the shooting suspect was identified as 24-year-old Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez. According to a U.S. law enforcement source, Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait and came to the United States in 1996. It’s unclear if and when he became an American citizen.
A U.S. official told CBS News that Abdulazeez was not on law enforcement radar concerning possible terror links or aspirations. The FBI was not aware of him as being any kind of threat.
The FBI’s Knoxville Field Office, along with the Chattanooga Police Department and other law enforcement partners, are working jointly to investigate today’s shootings at a military recruitment center and a reserve center in Chattanooga, Tennessee in which four individuals were killed and three injured. The shooter, Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, is also deceased. While it would be premature to speculate on the motives of the shooter at this time, we will conduct a thorough investigation of this tragedy and provide updates as they are available.
Really, is it really premature to speculate as to what the motives of an individual like Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, who shows all the signs of radicalized Islam and a lone wolf terrorist? Seriously? ISIS has previously called for attacks on America and specifically on uniformed police and military. Can we please stop the PC nonsense and just call this for what it is, TERRORISM.
Witnesses said that they heard dozens of shots as the suspected gunman, identified as 24-year-old Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, opened fire on two military installations sending people running for cover, according to the Associated press.
Abdulazeez, of Hixson, Tenn., was killed in a firefight with responding police officers after the rampage, a U.S. official said. The FBI said Friday night that the manner of his death was still being determined.
A motive for the shooting was still under investigation, but officials were investigating whether he was inspired by ISIS or other terrorist groups.
“My main message right now is obviously the deepest sympathies of the American people to the four Marines that have been killed,” President Obama said to reporters in the Oval Office. “It is a heartbreaking circumstance for these individuals … to be killed in this fashion.”

A Question to the Gun Grabbing Liberals … Why Do Gunmen Target Churches And Schools, Not NRA Meetings?
Breitbart asks as very good question, Why Do Gunmen Target Churches And Schools, Not NRA Meetings?
In the wake of the deadly shootings at the historic Emanuel American Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, SC where 9 innocent black church members, including Rev. Clementa C. Pinckney, were murdered at the hands of a racist, hate-filled individual Dylann Roof, some liberal Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton were quick to politicize the heinous crime and call for grabbing, rather than mourn and honor the victims. However, Breitbart.com ask and interesting and provocative question following this murder of innocents, who’s only crime was to worship and be a Bible study.
Breitbart asks … Why Do Gunmen Target Churches And Schools, Not NRA Meetings? The short answer is, because they would be dead before they were able to pull the gun out of their pocket. So the next time a gun grabbing liberal spouts off about ending violence with gun grabbing rhetoric remember one thing, as Breitbart opines, an “unarmed people are vulnerable people, and criminal predators prey upon them.” There is a reason why criminals attack schools, churches and movie theatres, they are gun free zones and the people with evil intent know that and exploit it.
In the wake of the heinous attack on Charleston’s Emanuel American Methodist Episcopal Church, Democrats’ ritual calls for more gun control have louder than usual, and a mainstream media’s focus on the threat of “mass shootings” has been kicked up a notch.
The question none of the Democrats or media outlets have asked is why gunmen, historically speaking, attack churches and school but bypass NRA meetings?
Why do they target Fort Hood twice within a five years period while opening fire in Walmart remains unpopular?
To ask the questions is to answer them. Law-abiding citizens are largely prohibited from possessing guns for self-defense in churches and schools around the country, but they may be heavily and openly armed at an NRA meeting. Likewise, soldiers are then mandated to be unarmed on stateside military bases while law-abiding shoppers at Walmart can and frequently do carry guns to protect themselves and their families.
In the end, when you take the guns away from the law-abiding citizens guess who are the only ones who have them?

21 year old Dylann Roof was arrested Thursday in Shelby, North Carolina after police were tipped off by a motorist.
