What’s Another $1.2 Trillion … Obama Makes Official Request that Congress Raise the Debt Ceiling to more than $16 Trillion
And the Barack Obama spending keeps on coming … UNPATRIOTIC!
It’s official, President Barack Obama asks for the debt ceiling to be raised by another $1.2 trillion. Good grief, will the spending never stop? where is the fiscal discipline from this President, where is the leadership to take on the ridiculous National Debt and go after entitlement programs and wasteful DC spending that are bankrupting America?
The Gateway Pundit reminds us of when Barack Obama called raising the national debt irresponsible and unpatriotic when GWB raised the debt by $4 trillion in 8 years. What does Obama say about the $8 trillion he has increased it by in less than 4 years? Hmm? Talk about your Obama hypocrisy.
President Obama on Thursday made an official request that Congress raise the debt ceiling by $1.2 trillion over the objections of several House Republicans.
Obama’s formal notification gives both chambers 15 days to vote on whether to approve the hike. The House plans to vote on this request on Jan. 18, a spokeswoman for House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-Va.) said.
The United States reached the $15.194 trillion debt limit on Jan. 4, according to Treasury statements. Since that time, Treasury has employed the “extraordinary measure” of tapping into its Exchange Stabilization Fund to avoid exceeding the limit.
The White House agreed not to make an official request to raise the debt ceiling until now so that Congress could vote on the matter.
The United States cannot afford another 4 years of Barack Obama … the 2012 cannot come fast enough.

Senator Marco Rubio (FL-R) to Obama … You are Turning America into a “Deadbeat Nation”
Is this the “Hope & Change” America was promised … a deadbeat nation?
US Senator Marco Rubio (FL-R) fired off a scathing yet accurate letter to President Obama stating that during his first term and the lack of leadership from The One, Obama is turning America into a “deadbeat nation”. With record number of Americans on food stamps, millions unemployed and a record federal national debt, Obama answer is to continue his reckless spending and European-like nanny state policies.
The entire letter can be read HERE.
In a scathing letter sent to Barack Obama this morning, Senator Marco Rubio said that under the President’s first term in office, “more and more people have come to believe that America is becoming a deadbeat nation.”
Rubio went on to pledge that he would challenge any further increase in the debt ceiling, arguing that “we [Congress] need to make it routine to actually spend no more than we take in.” In the letter obtained by HUMAN EVENTS, the Florida Senator said that President Obama’s upcoming request to increase the debt ceiling by a whopping $1.2 trillion will cause the nation’s public debt to surpass the $16 trillion mark.
“I will oppose your request to continue borrowing and spending recklessly.”
[...]
If President Obama led the charge to reduce the country’s unsustainable debt in mid 2011 rather than punt the enterprise to a “Super Committee,” asserted Rubio, we’d already be on a pathway toward economic growth and prosperity. “Unfortunately, the first three years of your presidency have been a profile in leadership failure.”
America cannot afford another four more years of Obama, let alone the damage he might cause in the next year prior to the 2012 election.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE, SURPRISE, … They Just Can’t Help It, Democrats Push for Tax Hikes First in Deficit Talks
As reported by Reuters,Democrats on the deficit reduction “super-committee” want to talk tax hikes first. Does this really come as a shock to anyone and just proves what a stupid idea this was in the first place. What a surprise, Democrats want to discuss raising taxes. is there ever a time that Democrats don’t want to raise taxes on Americans?
Democrats want tax hikes to be the first item negotiated in “super committee” deficit-reduction talks, trying to force Republicans to confront an issue at the heart of this year’s budget fights, sources told Reuters.
The tough stance by Democratic members of the powerful 12-member congressional panel reflects the party’s wariness that Republicans might try to sideline the issue of revenue increases in the negotiations.
“They’ve raised the idea of doing taxes first,” a Republican aide involved in the discussions said on Friday on condition of anonymity.
As stated at the American Thinker, there is so much out of control spending by the US government, raising taxes is not the answer … there have to be reductions in spending at all levels. The question is who has the guts to do it?
Consider: Over the next 10 years the federal government will spend over $40 trillion. The idea that there is not $1.2 trillion out of that mind boggling sum to cut without raising taxes a dime is beyond belief. There is probably 5 times that amount that could be cut without raising taxes – if we had a congress and political parties with the spine to do it.
