It’s Official, US Federal Debt Now Exceeds $16 Trillion … And Counting
$16,000,000,000,000 and counting …
As the Democrat National Convention started their this afternoon, the US federal debt went over $16 trillion. Metaphor? In less than four years in office Barack Obama has already eclipsed President George W. Bush’s eight years. The increase in debt was bad enough under GWB; however, during the Obama presidency it has been unreal.
The Treasury Department said Tuesday that the federal government has now officially topped $16 trillion in debt.
The announcement, which came just an hour before Democrats gaveled in their convention in Charlotte, N.C., to renominate President Obama for another four-year term, immediately boosted the government’s grim fiscal picture back to the fore of the national debate.
Debt has risen at a meteoric pace under Mr. Obama — in less than four years in office he has already eclipsed President George W. Bush’s eight years. His advisors say he has a “plausible” plan to stabilize the debt, but defend his spending plans, saying to withdraw government stimulus now would hurt the economic recovery.
This has got to come to an end. The increasing federal debt has got to be stopped. This has become criminal. Any one who defends the record debt that Obama ran up knows nothing about economics and what is devastating the United States. However, if you think Obama has done damage during his first term , imagine, just imagine another one. Ramesh Ponnuru warns, “If You Think Obama’s First Term Was Bad, Imagine a Second.”
In another recent interview, Obama likened the Republican opposition to him to a “blister” that will be “popped” by the election (an image for which I will not soon forgive him).
If the president believes anything like this would happen in his second term, he is kidding himself. If Obama wins re-election, the Republican Party will react by moving right, not left. It will become less likely to compromise with Obama, not more.
If Obama wins, he will almost certainly win with a smaller majority of the vote than he got in 2008, in defiance of the usual trend: Incumbents who win re-election usually do better the second time around. Republicans will almost certainly add to their ranks in the Senate, and may take a majority. No way would they see this set of election results as a “decisive” statement of support for Obama’s views.

Patches O’ Hoolihan Would be Proud, Obama’s Senior Adviser David Axelrod Dodges Whether Americans Better Off Than Years Ago … Axelrod Masters the 5 D’s of Dodgeball, Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive & Dodge (So Does Plouffe)
We have finally found the theme of the Barack Obama reelection campaign. It’s not “Forward” … ITS DODGE!!!
This morning on Fox News Sunday with Chris Wallace, President Barack Obama’s chief adviser David Axelrod refused to answer the question that all incumbent reelection campaigns have to, is America better off than they were four years ago? Instead, Axelrod did his best dodge that only Patches O’ Hoolihan of the movie ‘Dodgeball’ could have been proud of. For Axelrod and Team Obama, “if you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a political question about the failed Obama economic policies”. Axelrod actually said, “that we are in a better position today than we were four years ago.” This is what they are going to tell the American people? Seriously, how does an incumbent President not going to answer questions on his record? Axelrod and Obama actually think they are going to run the campaign based on the 5 D’s of Dodgeball … “dodge, dip, duck, dive and, um dodge”.
As stated at Hot Air, how pathetic and telling is it that the head of Obama’s reelection team suddenly goes mute and tries to run away from the question by talking about the tough environment Barack Obama inherited. Wallace used the following stats, Unemployment: 7.8% then, 8.3% now – Median income: $54,983 then, $50,964 now – Gas prices: $1.85 per gallon then, $3.78 now – National debt: $10.6 trillion then, $15.9 trillion now and expected to go over $16 trillion during the Democrat National Convention.
Also on ABC’s ‘This Week’ George Stephanopoulosasked Obama’s senior White House adviser David Plouffe whether Americans are better off today than they were four years ago. Plouffe also dodged the question as he was taught as opined by the Lonely Conservative, if you can’t answer the question, just avoid it. In other words … “if you can dodge a car, you can dodge an economic question of the failed Obama presidency.
Asked the same question repeatedly host George Stephanopoulos on ABC’s “This Week,” President Barack Obama’s senior White House adviser, David Plouffe, reverted to talking points about job creation and the failings of the Bush administration.
“We were this close to a Great Depression,” Plouffe said at one point, pinching his thumb to his index finger.
Stephanopoulos cut him short.
“You still can’t say yes,” he told Plouffe.
As Doug Ross stated, look for the Obama minions to only appear on the complicit, corrupt media complex and away from Fox News where they might actually be asked and expected to answer a question. Now the question is will the liberal, in the tank media and the moderators ask the question to Obama during the debates?
Mandatory Viewing for All Obama reelection mouthpieces … The 5 D’s of political dodgeball” Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Dodge!
Former Democrat Congressman Artur Davis & Man Who Seconded Obama’s Nomination in 2008 Speaks at the 2012 RNC Supporting Mitt Romney
WHAT A DIFFERENCE 4 YEARS MAKES …
In 2008 Rep. Artur Davis (AL-D), the four term Democrat Congressman, seconded the nomination of Barack Obama at the Democratic National Convention and served as an Obama campaign co-chairman. However, four years later and too many extreme and far Left policies,Artur Davis has left the Democrat part and is speaking at the 2012 Republican National Convention. Artur Davis asked for a second chance that was the parallel to the theme of his speech, asking to “Let’s Take This Country Back”. The only thing missing was The Who’s music playing in the background, ‘Won’t Get Fooled Again’.
There are Americans who voted for the president, but who are searching right now, because they know that their votes didn’t build the country they wanted.
To those Democrats and independents whose minds are open to argument: listen closely to the Democratic Party that will gather in Charlotte and ask yourself if you ever hear your voice in the clamor.
Ask yourself if these Democrats still speak for you.
When they say we have a duty to grow government even when we can’t afford it, does it sound like compassion to you — or recklessness?
Thank you for Welcoming me to where I belong …
The full transcript can be read HERE.
The Democrats’ ads convince me that Governor Romney can’t sing, but his record convinces me he knows how to lead, and I think you know which skill we need more.
Now, America is a land of second chances, and I gather you have room for the estimated 6 million of us who know we got it wrong in 2008 and who want to fix it.
Maybe we should have known that night in Denver that things that begin with plywood Greek columns and artificial smoke typically don’t end well.
Maybe the Hollywood stars and the glamour blinded us a little: you thought it was the glare, some of us thought it was a halo.
But in all seriousness, do you know why so many of us believed? We led with our hearts and our dreams that we could be more inclusive than America had ever been, and no candidate had ever spoken so beautifully.
But dreams meet daybreak: the jobless know what I mean, so do the families who wonder how this Administration could wreck a recovery for three years and counting.
More amazing words from Artur Davis speaking to Independents and open minded Democrats:
To those Democrats and independents whose minds are open to argument: listen closely to the Democratic Party that will gather in Charlotte and ask yourself if you ever hear your voice in the clamor.
Ask yourself if these Democrats still speak for you.
When they say we have a duty to grow government even when we can’t afford it, does it sound like compassion to you — or recklessness?
When you hear the party that glorified Occupy Wall Street blast success; when you hear them minimize the genius of the men and women who make jobs out of nothing, is that what you teach your children about work?
When they tell you America is this unequal place where the powerful trample on the powerless, does that sound like the country your children or your spouse risked their lives for in Iraq or Afghanistan?
Prior to his speech at the RNC, Former Democrat Rep. Artur Davis, one of Barack Obama’s former 2008 campaign co-chairs, explained why he switched parties to CNN’s Wolf Biltzer. For his epiphany, Davis was attacked by the Black Congressional Caucus for leaving the Democrat plantation.
Oh, and by the way MSNBC did not broadcast this speech either.

New Majorly Democrat Skewed (+9) Washington Post Poll Has Romney Ahead of Obama, 47% to 46% …
More media bias in action … WAPO skews poll and Obama still cannot beat Romney …
Great new America, a new Washington Post/ABC poll has Mitt Romney ahead of President Obama 47% to 46%. Why is a poll that has Romney only ahead by 1% over Obama great? Because the poll is so skewed to Democrats (+9) that is can hardly be considered credible. That being said, Romney still leads Obama. How bad is that for Obama and his minions that the incumbent President Obama cannot beat Romney in a +9 sampled poll, D31/R22/I39.
The Republican National Convention opens this week with President Obama and presumptive nominee Mitt Romney running evenly, with voters more focused on Obama’s handling of the nation’s flagging economy than on some issues dominating the political debate in recent weeks.
A new Washington Post-ABC News poll shows Romney at 47 percent among registered voters and Obama at 46 percent — barely changed from the deadlocked contest in early July.
Check out a couple of questions from the poll, that should cause great concern and panic for Barack Obama, especially with a terribly skewed poll sampling. Now imagine what the poll would look like if the sampling was even D+3 or even and more than 71% considered the economy as a major factor in their vote and +54% considered him failing in his job with the economy?
Q: Do you approve or disapprove of the way Obama is handling his job as president?
APPROVE 50% – DISAPPROVE 46%Q: Do you approve or disapprove of the way Obama is handling the economy?
APPROVE 44% – DISAPPROVE 54%Q: Will Obama’s handling of the economy be a major factor in your vote, a minor factor, or not a factor?
MAJOR FACTOR 71%
MINOR FACTOR 17%
NOT A FACTOR 11%Q: Generally speaking, do you usually think of yourself as:
Democrat 31%
Republican 22%
Independent 39%
This is shameful on the part of the WAPO. In a once in a life time, elect the first black American, GWB fatigue, lame GOP McCain candidate election in 2008, Democrats came to the polls by +7 over the GOP. That is hardly going to happen again in 2012. But some how the WAPO samples the polling data for a one on one match up with Obama and Romney at +9.
I am going to disagree with the many political pundits, barring some unforeseen issue, I do not see the election in November as close as many have predicted. The mood of the country is ill with Obama, his policies and the economy. They are tired of being tired.
Romney and Ryan also get a bump in Ohio as reported at the WAPO.
GOP gets bump in Ohio: A new Columbus Dispatch Poll in Ohio shows both the presidential race and Senate race are essentially tied.
Romney tops Obama by less than one-quarter of 1 percent (each rounds to 45 percent), while Sen. Sherrod Brown (D) leads state Treasurer Josh Mandel (R) by just less than 1 percent (each rounds to 44 percent).

Barack Obama Sets Another Milestone … Plays His 100th Round of Golf Since He Took Office … VIDEO of Axelrod Calling GHWB Bush ‘out of touch’ for Playing Golf in Bad Economy
100th round of golf for Barack Obama as President, subtitled … The POTUS Putters and the economy sputters and 15 million out of work Americans mutter.
President Barack Obama has hit they century mark in rounds of gold played as President of the United States. UNREAL. As 15+ million Americans are out of work, 8.2% are unemployed, 13.6% Blacks unemployed, 11.0% Hispanics unemployed, discouraged workers rose as well, swelling to 14.8%, and the US debt continued to rise to a near $15.8 trillion … the out of touch President who thinks the private sector is doing fine plays yet another round of golf.
Sorry, but there is no way that Obama or his minions can make claims that Romney is out of touch with the American people. How clueless could one president possibly be? As Weasel Zippers says, “Because why should a horrific economy and a bloody war stop him from hitting the links?”
But let’s cut BO some slack, after all fundraising and disregarding the US Constitution is a hard job. What disregard Obama has for Americans who struggle to put food on the table and keep a roof over their head. Since Obama is so good at playing the race card and pitting the wealthy vs. the middle class and the poor … just curious Black, Hispanic and Blue collar America, how many rounds of golf did you play in the last 4 years? Hmm?
Obama has already played golf eight times this year. He actually is a little off his normal pace – perhaps campaigning is intruding on golf. The president golfed 28 times in 2009, 30 times in 2010, and an incredible 34 times in 2011.
Obama’s golfing takes about five hours, including the motorcades back and forth from the fairways. If one thinks of this as taking up much of the day – include getting ready to go and cooling off afterward – its fair to say that Obama has spent more than three months of his presidency golfing.
UPDATE I: Oh the hypocrisy of the LEFT … from 1994 comes a VIDEO of Obama’s top adviser David Axelrod calling Bush 41 out of touch for playing golf in a bad economy.
Video from 1994 has surfaced of David Axelrod, President Obama’s chief campaign strategist, calling former President George H.W. Bush “out of touch” for “tastelessly” playing golf while trying to convince voters that the economy is improving.
“Bush tastelessly did it, often from the ninth hole, and from the cigar boat and other places,” Axelrod said.
Added the adviser: “The impression you got was that he was out of touch.”
