Mitt Romney Steals the Show at Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation Dinner … “president’s remarks tonight are brought to you but the letter ‘O’ and the number $16 trillion”
Last night we witnessed the lighter side of politics as Mitt Romney and Barack Obama appeared at the Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation dinner … in the end, Romney NAILED IT!!! Guess what America, Romney is not a stiff, wooden robot. He is actually funny and real.
America witnessed yet another Romney myth go by the wayside. Romney stiff, not funny, can’t relate to Americans or make fun of himself? HARDLY. Watch the VIDEO below as Romney owned the room and actually beat Obama at his own game … telling jokes and yucking it up. Romney was on his game and Obama, well, many of Barack’s lines and jokes fell flat.
Mitt Romney … Guess what America, Mitt’s funny!
As the Washington Examiner writes … Romney was surprisingly hilarious. Surprisingly? No, not really … maybe only surprisingly because the MSM and Obama attack ads have tried to pain Romney something he is not. By night’s end and when American voters see the clips of the Alfred E. Smith dinner, voters will realize that Mitt just might be more likable than they were told.
Check out some of the more funny jokes from Mitt Romney as he did a tremendous job and showed American voters he is hardly stiff.
[Mitt able to make fun of himself and his wife Anne] Now Al, you were right, a campaign can require a lot of wardrobe changes. We — blue jeans in the morning perhaps, suits for a lunch fundraiser, sport coat for dinner, but it’s nice to finally relax and to wear what Ann and I wear around the house.
(LAUGHTER)Let’s just say that some in the media have a certain way of — of looking at things. When suddenly I — I pulled ahead in some of the major polls, what was the headline? “Polls Show Obama Leading from Behind.”
…as President Obama surveys the Waldorf banquet room with everyone in white tie and refinery, you have to wonder what he’s thinking. So little time, so much to redistribute.
(LAUGHTER)Second, find the biggest available straw man and then just mercilessly attack it.
Big Bird didn’t even see it coming.
And by the way in — in the spirit of Sesame Street, the president’s remarks tonight are brought to you but the letter ‘O’ and the number $16 trillion.
(LAUGHTER)…now I never suggest that the — that the press is biased. I recognize that they have their job to do, and I have my job to do. My job is to lay out a positive vision for the future of the country, and their job is to make sure no one else finds out about it.
(LAUGHTER)
Barack Obama had some good lines but many fell flat and his timing and delivery was off. Maybe in the back of his mind he was thinking about that Gallup poll that had him trailing Romney by 7? However, as Newsbusters opines, one of his funnier moments was his making fun of Chris Matthews … “Four years ago, I gave him a thrill up his leg. This time around I gave him a stroke.”

Barack Obama Tanking in Gallup Poll, Romney 52% – Obama 45%
Drip, drip, drip …
WOW, the 7 day rolling average Gallup poll has Mitt Romney up by 7 points over President Barack Obama, 52% to 45%. The gap is widening and with a good debate this coming Monday, Romney could finish Obama off once and for all and break the election wide open.
It would appear that Obama just showing up and doing better than the first debate, which was not hard to do, has not affected the polling. Romney is starting to separate himself.
Hot Air reminds us also that Rasmussen now has Romney up by 2% over Obama in their tracking poll. It appears that their individuals polled were not impressed by Obama’s debate performance either.
Interestingly, Romney’s 49% is solid with or without leaners. Without leaners, Obama only gets to 46%. Among those “certain” to vote, Romney leads 46/44. Republicans now have an eight-point advantage on enthusiasm, 83/75, with independents nearly as enthused as Democrats at 72%.
Romney is starting to see a lot of polls in his favor as seen at Real Clear Politics. This is interesting, ABC News touts the Romney lead in the Gallup poll and in the process references their own recent poll that where an ABC/WAPO poll had Obama ahead of Romney 49% to 46%. Funny they should bring this up because in order to give Obama a three point lead over Romney, the hacks at ABC/WAPO had to provide a +9D sampling. Yea, that is believable. In Obama’s once in a life time election in 2008 Democrats had a +7 turnout. So ABC/WAPO thinks that Democrats are going to turn out even more? Not likely.
901. Generally speaking, do you usually think of yourself as (a Democrat), (a Republican), an independent or what?

Obama in Trouble …Obama Campaign Walking Away From Florida, North Carolina, Virginia, Colorado
Is Barack Obama giving up and reading the Romney handwriting on the wall in Florida, North Carolina, Virginia and Colorado? As stated at Hot Air, one has to look way down in the article to find this gem of info that is the most significant part of the entire piece.
What also became clear after the dust began to settle from the rumble on Long Island was the electoral map has narrowed and Obama’s team, while conceding nothing publicly, is circling the wagons around Ohio, Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada. Plouffe said that Obama remains strong in all four states, but he would not discuss the specifics of internal polling or voter-contact analytics, saying only that Obama has “significant leads” in all four places.
It is uncharacteristic of Team Obama to concede any terrain, but Plouffe offered no such assurances about Obama’s position in North Carolina, Virginia, or Florida. Romney advisers have seen big gains in all three states and now consider wins likely, although not guaranteed, in all three. They are similarly upbeat about prospects in Colorado but not confident enough to predict victory. That Plouffe left Colorado off his list of states where Obama’s leading and can withstand a Romney surge might be telling…
Romney, according to RCP, has 191 electoral votes. If you add Florida (29), North Carolina (15), and Virginia (13), that brings his total to 248 electoral votes. Add Colorado (9) –which neither campaign is prepared to claim or concede–and Romney’s total rises to 257 electoral votes. If Romney wins Ohio (18) in addition to these states, he would have 275 electoral votes. If Romney loses Ohio, he would need to win Iowa, Nevada, and New Hampshire to reach 273 electoral votes.
As Hot Air stated, is Team Obama doing electoral triage? Has Romney’s surge in so many battleground states and in states that were supposed to be lean Obama that it is stretching Obama’s resources? Is Obama’s vulnerability in so many states coming back to haunt him? It would appear that Obama may be redrawing his fire line.
It’s not that Romney has insurmountable leads in FL, VA, and NC, it’s that Team O has to decide how to allocate what’s left of its campaign treasury down the stretch and there are better bets for them than those three states. Triage, in other words. Mitt’s up 4.7 points on average in North Carolina, which would be tough for O to make up, and 2.5 points in Florida, which might be doable but would be hugely expensive in terms of reserving enough ad time to make a dent. I’m a little surprised to see Virginia included — O actually leads there by eight-tenths of a point, although Romney’s (narrowly) won the last three polls, so maybe Obama’s campaign figures it’s not worth resisting that momentum in a state they don’t really need.

Gallup Poll: Mitt Romney Leads Barack Obama 51% to 46%
Don’t Look now but the Gallup poll is starting to break wide open for Romney …
GOP Presidential candidate Mitt Romney extends lead of Barack Obama in the latest Gallup poll, 51% to 46%. I guess we can expect another tongue-lashing of Gallup by Team Obama for unfair poll sampling because The One now seems to see his once lead, slip, sliding away.

Honey Boo Boo Child Endorses Barack Obama
Wow, here’s the all important endorsement that both Presidential candidates were after. Honey Boo Boo child endorses Barack Obama. Now there is something to be proud of. I am certain that we shall see a bump in the polls after this ringing endorsement.
In further dubious celebrity endorsement news, Honey Boo Boo has endorsed Obama. Mitt Romney gets H. Ross Perot and Obama gets Honey Boo Boo, nuff said.
If you don’t know who Honey Boo Boo is, you have led a uniquely charmed life and you need to go back to it, posthaste. And take me with you.
But for the rest of us, this seems only logical.
Because there is no subject sufficiently serious that we can go without hearing from Honey Boo Boo on it. Gay rights? Check. The merits of pigs as pets? Check. The election? Check.
More from the LA Times.
Alana Thompson, the pint-sized star of “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” expressed her support for the incumbent president — or, as she called him, “Marack Obama”.
To be fair, Alana didn’t exactly volunteer her opinion; it took considerable prompting from Kimmel to get the aspiring beauty queen, who was joined by her mother, June Shannon, to weigh in on the election. Sensing that his young guest was getting bored with the conversation the grown-ups were having (sample topics: coupons, the fleeting nature of reality stardom), Kimmel decided to shift the focus back to Alana.
Kimmel made a futile attempt at a follow-up question — “Is there any way that Mitt Romney can win your vote back?” — but by then Alana had moved on to making faces at herself in a camera off stage. (Evidently her attention span is only slightly shorter than that of the average American voter.)
