More Obama Art … Art Imitating, Um, Art … Or is it Plagiarizing Art? (Watusi – L’Escargot)

Obama’s choice in art seems to snail, sorry pale in comparison to the real deal.

Who knew that “Watusi” actually translated to “L’Escargot?”  This White House certainly has an eye for detail. Oops, Mr. President … that looks an awful lot like a snail.

Art? Looks like the collage I made in the 3rd grade.

What’s up with the Obama art collection in the White House? First we have the “art of Maybe,” now we have the art of plagiarism.

From Michelle Malkin via the Free Republic comes this little artistic remake gem.

Today, a Free Republic poster notices another of the Obamas’ curious art choices: “Watusi (Hard Edge),” by Alma Thomas, who is described by the NYTimes as “a longtime Washington resident who is an African-American painter.”

The Gateway Pundit confirms that there is a fraud in The White House. But we already knew that didn’t we? What a metaphor.

This is cool, Brian Ledbetter at Snapped Shots has an animation overlay of the two pieces of art. Glad to see someone has an eye for detail.
