Obama’s Government Run Option Good for Individuals? Guess Who has the Highest Rate of Medical Claims … Medicare

Because Obamacare and the government would never deny you healthcare.

So you think that the government run public option that  Obama and the Democrats continue to try and force down the throats of Americans is a good thing? That government run public option that Obama says is not an integral part of his healthcare reform, yet pushes vigorously behind the scenes.

Me, deny your medical bill … what do you think?

America, guess who has one of the greatest rates of denials for healthcare claims? If your answer was a private insurance carrier like Cigna, Humana or United Healthcare … you would be wrong. If you guessed government run Medicare, you would be a winner!

The highest rated denier of claims from all carriers listed was the government run option of Medicare. In most cases Medicare is double that of private insurance carriers.

From Big Government.com comes the following.

Beverly Gossage, Research Fellow for Show-Me Institute and founder of HSA Benefits Consulting wondered which insurance companies rejected the most claims.  She found her answer in the AMA’s own 2008 National Health Insurer Report Card.  The chart below appears on page 5 of the 16-page report. (full report here, pdf)

As NewsBusters states, “you would Medicare’s sheer size might enable it to have smoother procedures with its providers that would enable it to turn down a lower percentage of claims. But no, this is the government we’re talking about”.

The government is never the answer to making anything more affordable, easier access or efficiency.

What is even more comical is just yesterday President Obama hosted 150, pro-socialist doctors, who supported Obamacare where Obama stated that his bill would allow doctors to spend more time seeing patients and less time filling our paper work and forms. Really, with a 6.85% denial rate of claims imagine the amount of paperwork that is required to review, appeal and protest a claim. This does not even scratch the surface of the number of office visits, procedures and surgeries that a government run option would not deem medically necessary and would not allow in the first place.

It begs the question that how does the AMA back a healthcare option that would deny payment to its members at a greater rate than any other insurer?

Over 475,000 claims denied with just Medicare. Now imagine the “cash for clunkers” genius of organization of government run healthcare in charge of an even greater number of the so-call 47 million uninsured. Guess how many claims will be denied and the red tape bureaucratic nightmare that will ensue?
