Random People from Phone Book Better Options to 42% of Voters than Current Congress

How bad is Congress viewed these days? In a recent Rasmussen poll, 42% of voters stated that random people picked from a phone book would do a batter job that the ones presently in Congress. OUCH, that’s going to leave a mark. Does anyone think it pays right now to be looked at as an incumbent Washington, DC “Inside the Beltway” politician?

Forty-two percent (42%) of U.S. voters say a group of people randomly selected from the phone book would do a better job than the current Congress. The latest Rasmussen Reports telephone survey finds that an identical number (42%) disagree, but 16% are not sure.

Is it any wonder that 57% of the voters want to kick them all out of office? Democratic incumbents certainly cannot look to Barack Obama for coat tail effects, as none exist.

Which brings us to the Pew Research Center poll that shows Congressional favorability is at a 24 year low. Only 37% have a favorable opinion of Congress.

What might be causing the Congressional distrust trend with Democrats? Maybe it’s the following chart from the Pew Research Center where Democrats have stated that health care is a “crisis” and “emergency” yet the numbers do not support the rhetoric.

Notice something? The percentage of respondents citing health care as a major national problem stays flat and low until the Democrats put forward a bill that.

Why is Obamacare failing with “We the People”? Because an overwhelming majority of people are happy with their care. Do some things need to be fixed? Of course. However, that does not mean in order to fix a couple of lights that are out, we need to bring down the entire home.

UPDATE I: 56% of Americans want Congressmen to shut up and listen to “We the People”.
