Is Obamacare on life support or DOA?

According to Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota, the public health insurance option is dead.

One thing is for certain, just like VP Joe Biden previously stated that the Obama Administration misread the economy, they also misread what their mandate was with regards to health care reform. Town hall after town hall has been witness that the American people are demanding answers and are not in favor of Obamacare. National polls say the same.

The result of Obama’s socialistic, government run health care plan is a –9% in the Daily Presidential tracking poll and a 52% disapproval rate in his job approval. Obama’s efforts to try and do a Presidential Obama Election Campaign Part II known as the three town hall meetings this past week have failed to provide any answers or comfort to the American people. Obama’s efforts were much too late and much too like campaign promises vs. Obamacare details.

Americans do not want Obamacare!!!

A recent Rasmussen poll showed that 54% of voters say that say “no health care reform passed by Congress this year would be the better option”. Americans simply want nothing to do with health care reform as prescribed in the House bill. This generally means that there will not even be compromise. Americans want it scraped and start again.

Thirty-five percent (35%) of American voters say passage of the bill currently working its way through Congress would be better than not passing any health care reform legislation this year. However, a new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that most voters (54%) say no health care reform passed by Congress this year would be the better option.

Democratic Senator Kent Conrad of North Dakota stated that the public health care insurance option is dead. Not only is there not the support with Americans, there is not enough support in the Senate either.

A key Senate negotiator said Sunday that President Barack Obama should drop his push for a government-funded public health insurance option because the Senate will never pass it.

Democratic Sen. Kent Conrad of North Dakota said it was futile to continue to “chase that rabbit” due to the lack of 60 Senate votes needed to overcome a filibuster.

WELCOME TO NAME THAT OBAMACARE  COVERED AILMENT & ILLNESS

 Hat Tip: Hot Air

However, after multiple staged Town Hall meetings that looked more like campaign stump speeches, Obama uses the aid of the NY Times to release an Oped on why we need health care reform. You mean three town hall meetings with questions and answers could not explain why? Oh wait, instead we get another willing liberal media accomplice to reiterate the Obama talking points on health care reform. What Obama has failed to do is explain why a government run health care needs to be an option. Failed miserably.

Full TEXT of Town Hall meeting in Montana. One question for President Obama who was asked a tough and honest question by a college student regarding how can private insurance compete with the might of Uncle Sam. The President stated that debate was good. Then why Mr. President did you want this health care bill passed before Congress went on break weeks ago without any debate?

Q: My question is this.  And also, I’d love to have a debate, just all out, anytime, Oxford-style, if you’d like.  (Laughter.)  I understand — I’m willing to do that.  But my question is this.  We all know the best way to reduce prices in this economy is to increase competition.

How in the world can a private corporation providing insurance compete with an entity that does not have to worry about making a profit, does not have to pay local property taxes — (applause) — they do not have to — they’re not subject to local regulations?  How can a company compete with that?  And I’m not looking for anything — I don’t want generalities.  I don’t want philosophical arguments.  I’m just asking a question.

So that’s why I say, this is actually a legitimate debate.  I think that we can craft a system in which you’ve got a public option that has to operate independently, not subsidized by taxpayers

No, they are.  And so — but the larger point I want to make — and it’s good to see a young person who’s very engaged and confident challenging the President to a Oxford-style debate, I think this is good.  (Applause.)  You know, the — this is good.  You know, I like that.  You got to have a little chutzpah, you know.

So what is Obamacare without a public option? A nightmare for the LEFT as their boy failed to bring home the goods and the savior for private insurance and Obama’s intended purpose of creating a single payer government health care system.
