The FEC Ticking Clock on Internet Freedoms

Posted in: Bloggers,Politics

Red State.org reminds us of the impending date for the FEC o determine our on-line freedoms. This is something that we all must think about and deal with. This is an issue that affects all sides of the blogosphere. This is a very important read and extremely important issue to the internet.

However, I have to take pause with one comment that I have seen regarding this matter and I am sure many of us have this same thought and fear.

FEC requires the “full name and postal service address” of commenter’s for regulations which, among other things, requires blog writers to disclose their (guess) … full name and postal service address? Obviously, desiring to remain pseudonymous, I will not comment. The irony of the selection bias which they have set up will no doubt be entirely lost on them, however. I want to help defeat this, but I’m not sure how.
