Bad Bad Newsweek

Posted in: General

People all over the world die, and the reputation of the United States is tarnished. And what bullet proof reporting caused this.Good ol Newsweek.  This is Newsweek’s Editor Mark Whitaker explaining the quality of the fact checking over the Newsweek lie about the US Military burning Korans.

Their information came from a knowledgeable U.S. government source, and before deciding whether to publish it we approached two separate Defense Department officials for comment. One declined to give us a response; the other challenged another aspect of the story but did not dispute the Qur’an charge.

So a huge international incident was created over NEWSWEEKS failure to do proper fact checking. He did not dispute the charge is much much different than he verified the charge was accurate. I think that Isikoff and Barry should sent over to the areas that are rebelling and see the results of their work. Maybe personal interviews with the families that lost loved ones because they rushed a story.

Here is the other whitewash article Newsweek did. Yes, we were wrong, but it is not that bad…

Notice how the emphasis is that we may have made a mistake, but look at how evil the United States is? It makes me wonder at what level is the contempt for the country held in these newsrooms? I mean, we all know they dislike Bush, but to create an international incident over a lie just to hurt the Bush White House. It disgusts me.

But what do I know, I am just a blogger.

Here is what other bloggers are saying:
