The best laid plans of mice and men …

Wow, who would have though and coming from the LEFT, Fire Dog Lake says, “Worst. Inauguration. Ever.” Is it possible that “The Chosen One” could do wrong? A golden Willie Wonka ticket did not promise you a special moment with The One. Under performing as seen by the Left, is this a sign of things to come.

That’s right, despite having in hand magic purple tickets, and lining up hours before the gates opened, I saw nothing. I heard, beyond the guns, nothing.

I followed all the signs, I went to the appointed spot. . . and what? There was almost no one who had a clue of what was to happen next. Some people who seemed to know what they were talking about stood on the back of a garbage truck and shouted–sans any amplification–so that all anyone could make out was that they were pointing in a certain direction. Most of us followed.

Honestly, what did people expect when the mass of humanity grew to what it became? Maybe people will get an understanding of what happens to logistics when events become large. A simple planned event like an Inauguration can get messed up, image what it is like to logistically deal with an unplanned event like Hurricane Katrina? Or manage a war. That’s reality, not speech rhetoric. Interesting concept that the best laid plans … don’t always work out they way they are supposed to … even for The One. Let this be a lesson to the left of past events that were overwhelmed by the enormity of the circumstances.

The Other McCain stated, it fell flat as Obama’s inauguration speech underwhelmed. Maybe he should have left it to the speech writers after all.

People chanted, “Let us in.” People chanted, “We have tickets.” People chanted “we are purple,” waving their precious 4×6 inch tickets in the air.

And then they just started begging and shouting. Let us in. We have tickets. We’ve been here for hours. Let us in.

And then it was noon. And everything stopped
