John Travolta’s Son, Jett Travolta, Dies in the Bahamas

There is sad and tragic news out of the Bahamas. The son of John Travolta, 16 year old Jett Travolta has passed away while on vacation in the Bahamas. According to reports from TMZ,  Jett suffered a seizure and attempts to revive him were unsuccessful.

Jett Travolta, 16, suffered a seizure at his family’s vacation home at the Old Bahama Bay Hotel on Grand Bahama Island, attorney Michael Ossi said.

Attempts were made to revive him, but he died at the scene, Ossi said.

Jett, who had a history of seizures, was the eldest child of Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston.

Report: John Travolta’s Son Dies

There have long been reports that Jett was autistic, though John and Kelly denied it, saying that he instead suffers from Kawasaki Disease, a relatively rare illness which could cause heart problems. In an interview with USA Today in 2002, Kelly recalled her son’s diagnosis after he became “very, very sick with high fever and swollen glands and peeling fingers and rash all over his body” eight years earlier.

UPDATE I: According to the AP, Jett died after injuring himself hitting his head in bath tub.

Police in the Bahamas say John Travolta’s teenage son has died after injuring himself at the actor’s vacation home.

Police spokeswoman Loretta Mackey says 16-year-old Jett Travolta hit his head in a bathtub Friday morning. She said he was declared dead at Rand Memorial Hospital on Grand Bahama Island.
