UPDATE I: Missing Eastlake woman’s car, personal items found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

According to officials with the Cuyahoga Valley National Park, Sharma’s car was found at the Boston Store Visitor Center in Peninsula, near the Ohio and Erie Canal around midnight Friday. this following after Eastlake police issued a BOLA,  ‘be on the lookout alert’ Thursday, which led to a search involving many local agencies both on the ground, by boat and in the air.

UPDATE Friday, 2:40 p.m.: Searchers found some belongings in a remote section of the woods within two miles of where Sharma’s vehicle was found. The National Parks Service is investigating if the items belong to the 30-year-old missing woman. Sharma’s camera case was found inside her car, but the camera was not found. Her cell phone is also missing.

UPDATE Saturday, 5:08 p.m.: At this hour, dozens of people are searching for the Eastlake woman who’s been missing since Tuesday.  We are finding out that personal items found recently do, in fact, belong to 30 year-old Hillary Sharma.  Cuyahoga Valley National Park leaders tell us based on those items they are centering their search to a more defined area.  That area is a few miles from the Boston Store Visitor Center where Sharma’s car was found Thursday.  No more specifics were given on the items found or the area where they are searching.

UPDATE II: Search to resume Sunday for missing woman in Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

UPDATE III: Search for missing Eastlake woman expands at Cuyahoga Valley National Park.

Authorities decided during a planning meeting Monday to take a threefold approach to the search, according to a park spokeswoman.

First, they will continue to search the remote, off-trail area where some of Sharma’s belongings were found Friday. Although investigators spent the weekend perusing that space, the park spokeswoman said it is dense and difficult to walk.

Second, the search will expand to other areas in the 33,000-acre park, including the Cuyahoga River. The park has asked volunteer kayakers to assist police kayakers in searching the roughly 2-mile stretch of river between the Boston Store Visitor Center in Peninsula and the park’s headquarters in Brecksville.

Third, the park is seeking tips from the public about anything they’ve seen in the park or about Sharma’s personal life. A man who answered the door at Sharma’s Eastlake home Sunday told the Northeast Ohio Media Group that she’d recently overcome personal issues.

Anyone with information about Sharma is asked to call the National Park dispatch office at (440) 546-5945.
