Beyond BIZARRE as PA Rednecks & Racists Re-elect 17 Term Representative John Murtha in Pennsylvania … BTW PA, You are a Coal State

What the hell was Pennsylvania thinking last night? No state probably did more of a disservice to itself that the Keystone state last night. Not only did they re-elect a man that would openly insult them not once, but twice. A coal state overwhelmingly selects Barack Obama. So much for those coal jobs.

In the end it was not about CHANGE, it was actually about the status quo of re-electing a 17 term Congressman and the airmarks he can provide for your state. It seems to be more about “what money (hand out) can be brought back” rather than change. As for CHANGE, that might just be the devastation of what’s left of the coal industry.

While watching the election returns and coming to understand the plausible reasons why Americans voted for Barack Obama there were certain races that leave me scratching my head in a WTF moment. Ok, America wanted “change” … whatever that might be. Ok, many first time voters and young people who do not pay taxes wanted “change” that is really yet to be defined. Ok, voters were upset with GWB and even Republicans were angered by the lack of conservative fiscal values displayed by so-called Republican candidates. Heck, though in some voter registration fraud, a media in the tank for Obama refusing to vet the candidate and even potential campaign finance violations … I get all that.

However, some one really needs to explain to me what the hell the people of Pennsylvania were thinking yesterday? After being called racists and rednecks by John Murtha, the Keystone State (now know as the Keystone Cop state) actually elected Murtha in an overwhelming 58% majority.   You have got to be joking! In the end, Murtha’s racists and rednecks re-elected him back to Washington, DC.

In spite of calling his constituents “rednecks” and saying that his district was in a racist part of the state, seventeen-term Pennsylvania Congressman John Murtha was re-elected with over 58 percent of the vote to beat out retired Republican Army lieutenant colonel William Russell. 

“I first want to say how proud I am to represent this hard-working patriotic area, how much I appreciate the support I got. We turned this thing around in ten days, and the folks worked so hard. I appreciate President Clinton coming in, I appreciate Hillary Clinton’s Robo-calls, and of course Joyce’s long-term work with the Girl Scouts and so forth. All of it paid off,” Murtha said on Tuesday night.

Trouble began for Murtha when the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that he said: “There is no question that western Pennsylvania is a racist area.” While he apologized, he also told Pittsburgh’s WTAE-TV that “this whole area, years ago, was really redneck.”

Some one from PA really needs to explain the rational how as Murtha so eloquently put it, “You keep sending me back regardless of what I say.”
