What Happens When Obama, the Chosen One Loses a Debate … Andrea Mitchell and the MSM Accuse McCain of Cheating (the Cone of Silence) MSM Sinks to New Low

Premise of MSM: In order for Obama to lose a debate … McCain must have cheated. Can anyone imagine a scenario where the MSM would accuse Obama of cheating? Sadly, this is how pathetic and desperate the MSM and Obama camp has become to win the White House. Isn’t it possible that Obama just did a lousy job as he had no teleprompter?

If one every wondered how much in the tank the mainstream media was for Barack Obama one need look no further than their reactions to Obama’s poor performance in the Saddleback Civil Forum on the Presidency, (Transcripts here). I guess we need to take the “Civil” out of the title as NBC’s Andrea Mitchell has floated the notion that John McCain cheated during the debates. So let’s get this straight … if the Obamamessiah loses a debate and by all accounts, he did, then McCain must have cheated? Welcome to the fair and balanced coverage of the MSM.

NBC’s Meet the Press transcript HERE, August 17, 2008.

MS. ANDREA MITCHELL: Oh, absolutely. And, you know, there was the crisp, immediate, forceful response by John McCain, clearly in a comfort zone because he was with his base. And Barack Obama, taking a risk in going there but seeing an opportunity. And a much more nuanced approach. The Obama people must feel that he didn’t do quite as well as they might have wanted to in that context, because that — what they’re putting out privately is that McCain may not have been in the cone of silence and may have had some ability to overhear what the questions were to Obama.

MR. GREGORY: Right.

MS. MITCHELL: He seemed so well prepared.

So we are supposed to believe that in order for McCain to do well in a debate and Obama fall flat that cheating had to be involved. In less than one hour John McCain heard all of Obama’s answers and instantaneously changed all of his responses for Rick

John McCain Protests NBC Coverage

Sen. John McCain’s (R-Ariz.) campaign manager Rick Davis asked Sunday for a meeting with Steve Capus, the president of NBC News, to protest what the campaign called signs that the network is “abandoning non-partisan coverage of the presidential race.”

Davis made the request Sunday in a letter that is part of an aggressive effort by McCain to counter news coverage he considers critical.

Warren: McCain did not violate ‘cone of silence’

Some questioned whether that late arrival might have allowed McCain to hear some of the questions being first posed to Obama.

Warren told CNN Sunday evening, “we flat out asked him” if he heard any of the questions. The McCain campaign “confirmed that McCain did not hear or see any of the broadcast” in the motorcade or after he arrived, Ross said.

When asked if McCain overheard anything, Charlie Black, a McCain adviser who was with him at the time, told CNN: “We were in motorcade until 5:30 p.m. ET; then a holding room in another building with no TV.”

Warren said, “I trust the integrity of both” candidates, and said he “knew they would abide by the rules.” He joked McCain may not have been in the cone of silence, but “he was in the cone of a Secret Service motorcade”.

More posting on the notion that in order for Obama to lose a debate, Mccain needed to cheat.
