BREAKING … The NY Daily News is reporting that evacuation of some buildings at Harvard University is taking place after report of possible bombs/explosives on campus.

UPDATE I: Harvard evacuates 4 buildings after report of explosives.
Harvard University issued an alert on its website Monday morning citing “unconfirmed reports of explosives at four sites on campus: Science Center, Thayer, Sever, and Emerson. Please evacuate those buildings now.”

  • 9:33am EST – The Harvard University Police Department (HUPD) this morning received an unconfirmed report that explosives may have been placed in four buildings on campus:  the Science Center, Thayer, Sever and Emerson Halls. HUPD and Cambridge Police are on the scene. Out of an abundance of caution, the buildings have been evacuated while the report is investigated.  Harvard’s focus is on the safety of our students, faculty and staff.  We will update the media when we have more information.

UPDATE III: Harvard Students Allowed Back in All Evacuated Buildings - Officials Found No Evidence of Explosives Following Bomb Threat.

Harvard University students were allowed full access to the campus Monday afternoon after officials said they found no evidence of explosives in four buildings that had been evacuated because of an earlier bomb threat.

In a statement released about 3 p.m., the university said students were allowed back into Thayer Hall, a dorm, and classrooms in Emerson and Sever halls and the Science Center. An earlier restriction on access to Harvard Yard was also lifted.
