Posted in: Aruba,Deceased,Travel

Driving the safe roads of Aruba? Plan on renting a car when on vacation? 78 Hwy Safety Challengeyear old Edgar Renfrum became the 3rd traffic fatality alone this week in Aruba and the 9th this year. The roads in Aruba this year have become like a demolition derby of carnage.

The jeep in which Renfrum was, came from Dakota and wanted to turn on the main road towards the airport.  However, the driver failed to yield, and the car that was coming from the direction of the airport hit the jeep on the driver’s side.

Just one more reason why not to get into a car with three people after leaving Carlos n’ Charlie’s. If the suspects don’t get you, another driver will.

The traffic on the main road from Oranjestad to San Nicolas has claimed another life yesterday.

ORANJESTAD — Edgar Renfrum, a former soccer player from Dakota that caused furore in the sixties, died in a traffic accident last Wednesday.

The accident took place around noon near the intersection at Price Smart.  The jeep in which Renfrum was, came from Dakota and wanted to turn on the main road towards the airport.  However, the driver failed to yield, and the car that was coming from the direction of the airport hit the jeep on the driver’s side.  At first, it didn’t look like the passengers of both cars were inured.  However, the 78-year old Renfrum that was in the back of the jeep, had died.  Reanimation attempts were in vain; he seemed to have died from a cardiac arrest.

This is the third fatal traffic accident this week.  The total number of fatalities in traffic this year is 9
