Not only did this rogue government agency abuse its power and purposely targeted conservative and Tea Party organizations, but they also wasted the hard earned tax payer dollars on lavish conventions. Gowdy tells the story of a secretary in his office who asked him to borrow money for a birthday gift for her child, all the while that the IRS was spending $3500 a night on hotel rooms. As people are losing their jobs, homes and health insurance the IRS was spending $4,000,0000 at conferences.
