New England Patriots Go for 16-0 Perfect Regular Season Against NY Giants (UPDATE: Patriots Perfect 16-0)

Posted in: Sports

PATRIOT GAMES … PERFECTION … PATS GO UNDEFEATED … 16–0 REGULAR SEASON.

Thanks to the NFL buckling under to the tremendous fan pressure, the Patriot –Patriots_logo2 Giant match up, a game for the ages and NFL history will be seen on the NFL network, NBC and CBS. It would have been rather embarrassing disaster for such a significant NFL game to have had a TV rating of 4.0. Some have compared the game to being like a Presidential address … “You flip the channel and the Patriots will basically be what’s on.”

“We appreciate CBS and NBC delivering the NFL Network telecast on Saturday night to the broad audience that deserves to see this potentially historic game,” Goodell said. “Our commitment to the NFL Network is stronger than ever.”

Tonight in the swamps of New Jersey at Giant Stadium, the New England Patriots look to complete a perfect 16–0 regular season. One of the questions prior to this game is just how many Patriot fans were able to get their hands on tickets? Many will probably have paid the insane prices these tickets were being offered for and braved the 200 mile trip down Rt 95. This may actually become a home field advantage for the Patriots.

The 15–0 New England Patriots tonight look to become only the second team in NFL history to finish the regular season with no losses. The 1972 Miami Dolphins may be putting the champagne on ice permanently as they share the stage with the Patriots.

Neither the New England Patriots nor the NY Giants have anything to play for in tonight FL match up. The 10–5 NY Giants are locked into the #5 seed in the NFC playoffs, while the 15–0 Patriots have locked up a first round buy and home field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs. However, there are many records that are at stake in tonights game.

With all this on the line and a buy next week for the New England Patriots, its hard to believe they will hold anything back tonight.

UPDATE I: Pats break single season scoring record, Brady ties TD passing record and Moss ties TD reception record on 4 yard TD pass.

UPDATE II: Tom Brady breaks single season TD passing record and Randy Moss breaks single season TD reception record … Brady to Moss 65 yard TD pass.

UPDATE III: Patriot Act 16–0 … New England has first perfect regular NFL season in 35 years.

The New England Patriots rallied from a 28–16 deficit to score 22 consecutive points on way to a 38–35 victory. The win and a 16–0 regular season completes the first undefeated season in the NFL in 35 years.
