The stories keep getting more twisted and heinous. A Tennessee man, Wayne Burkhart, is accused of used remote-controlled shock collars to force his two eldest daughters, now ages 18 and 19, to obey him. He is also accused of abuse and rape of his two daughters from his previous marriage. According to the report, his wife, Rebecca Burkhart, was aware of the use of the dog collars on the two girls.

A rural Tennessee father is accused of raping his two teenage daughters and using electric dog collars to establish dominance over them, authorities said Tuesday.

The charges against the 37-year-old man and his 35-year-old wife were referred to a grand jury on Tuesday in Tazewell, which is in rural Claiborne County near the Kentucky border.

Tennessee husband and wife Wayne and Rebecca Burkhart were arrested in September. Wayne Burkhart faces two counts of aggravated child assault and two counts of rape. Rebecca Burkhart was charged with aggravated child neglect and failing to report child abuse.

The man is charged with aggravated child abuse and two counts of rape. His wife, who prosecutors say knew about the use of dog collars but not the alleged sexual assaults, is charged with aggravated child abuse and failure to report child abuse.

Prosecutors said more charges could be handed down when the grand jury convenes Dec. 3.

Teens accuse dad of rape, torture

A tale of incestuous rape, terror, torture and neglect unfolded in a Claiborne County courtroom Tuesday as a two Cumberland Gap teenagers testified against their parents.

An 18 -year-old daughter testified she and her sister were repeatedly raped by their father, then tortured with the same shock collars he used to train hunting dogs. Her 15-year-old brother said during the preliminary hearing that he also witnessed the “shock” treatments.
