WWE Wrestler Chris Benoit … Roid Rage? Strangled Wife, suffocated Son and Hung Himself

Posted in: Bizarre,Crime,Deceased,Media,Murder,Sports

When Chris Benoit, his wife Nancy and their son Daniel were all found dead in their Fayetteville County, GA home in suburban Atlanta, the speculation began of murder – suicide and whether steroids could have been a factor. Today we learned the tragic story that Chris Benoit strangled his wife, suffocated his son and then took his own life by hanging himself.

Autopsies showed all three died of asphyxiation, Pope said.

Benoit’s wife, Nancy, was killed Friday in an upstairs family room, her feet and wrists were bound and there was blood under her head, indicating a possible struggle, Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard said.

The son, Daniel, was likely killed late Saturday or early Sunday, the body found in his bed, Ballard said.

Benoit apparently killed himself several hours and as long as a day later, Ballard said. His body was found in a downstairs weight room, his body found hanging from the pulley of a piece of exercise equipment. (Breitbart)

Steroids

Investigators did recover anobolic steroids from the Benoit residence. The question remains and will be speculated for some time, did steroids cause Chris Benoit become unhinged and kill his family and himself due to ROID RAGE?

Investigators found prescription anabolic steroids in the house and want to know whether the muscle man nicknamed “The Canadian Crippler” was unhinged by the bodybuilding drugs, which can cause paranoia, depression and explosive outbursts known as “roid rage.”Steroids2

Long term effects of steroids

It would appear that Vince Mc Mahon and The WWE is in cover their ass mode as they lash out at the media for speculating that steroids had anything to do with the double murder – suicide.

World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) issued a strongly worded statement Tuesday night condemning media speculation that steroids had anything to do with the homicides and suicide. (Fox News)

Oh yea Vince, like wrestling and the WWE doesn’t have a track record of athletes that have died of complications to steroid use. All in the name of sports entertainment so that the WWE and you can make millions. That’s entertainment.Wwe2

“In World Wrestling Entertainment, a lot of these athletes are dying at six times the rate of other human beings, most of them from cardiovascular disease,” Goldberg said. “There’s a bunch of them who died at young ages, in their 30s and early 40s.”

Isn’t this priceless, The WWE press release calling the media sensationalistic for how they speculated about the potential role “roid rage”. The WWE and Vince Mc Mahon calling others sensationalist when that is how Vince makes his money. Mr. Mc Mahon, you may want to dress up like a “pot” or a “kettle” for your next bit.

PotKettle

Actually Vince Mc Mahon, what do you call it when you play a tribute to a wrestler when you all but knew at the time of the airing that Chris Benoit had most likely murdered his wife and child? Needed to bleed that last advertizing dollar out of that wrestler’s memory before he was forever tainted.

Mc Mahon apology … Actually Vince, you have a lot more than this to apologize for.

The circumstances of the murders and the drawn out nature over the course of the weekend are more than bizarre as the fatal time line played out.

The prosecutor said he found it “bizarre” that the WWE wrestling star spread out the killings over a weekend and appeared to remain in the house for up to a day with the bodies. Ballard told ESPN.com that investigators smelled what they ascertained to be decomposing bodies when they entered the home. The varying degrees of decomposition between the bodies helped indicate the staggered times of death.

Toxicology test results may not be available for weeks or even months, he said. As for whether steroids played a role in the crime, he said: “We don’t know yet. That’s one of the things we’ll be looking at.” (ESPN)

UPDATE I: WWE Laywer Jerry McDevitt Being Rather Talkative and shifting blame Away from Steroids

Jerry McDevitt, an attorney for the WWE, publicly revealed that Benoit’s 7-year-old son, Daniel, was suffering from Fragile X syndrome, a genetic disorder that can result in a range of medical conditions, both internally and externally. The boy’s physical condition, McDevitt said, was taking a difficult toll on Benoit and his wife, Nancy.

“I don’t know what he confronted when he went back into the house,” McDevitt said. “No one really knows that. We’ll have to see. Clearly this issue of the son was a stressor on both relationships for some time.”  (ABC News)
