Another Poll Positive for Senator Brown (MA-R): UMass Lowell/Herald Poll has Brown Leading Warren 49% to 48%

Posted in: 2012 Elections,Senate,Senate Elections

Down the political election stretch comes another poll that shows that incumbent Republican Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown has narrowed the gap and now leads challenger Elizabeth Warren.

The most recent UMass Lowell/Herald poll has the US Senate race deadlocked within the margin of error with Scott Brown leading Warren, 49% to 48%. Brown is viewed favorably by 54% of registered voters, which is quite amazing for a Republican in a state that is 4 to 1 Democrats. The poll sampling methodology is 52D/35R/7I.

The bruising Massachusetts Senate battle between Republican Scott Brown and Democrat Elizabeth Warren is deadlocked just hours before Election Day, with both the candidates and the voters suffering from a barrage of attack ads, a new UMass Lowell/Boston Herald poll reveals.

The poll shows Brown holding a 49-48 percent advantage over Warren among likely voters, dispelling earlier polls and Democratic claims of a small Warren lead. The one-point lead is well within the poll’s 4.1 percent margin of error.

This makes three polls that basically have the race a tie. A recent Boston Globe poll had Brown +2 and a Kimball Political Consulting poll with Brown +2.
