Gallup … Obama’s Class Warfare Argument Failing with People, 75% Do Not Give a Damn that Romney has Money

Posted in: 2012 Elections,class warfare,Gallup,Mitt Romney,Obamanation,Polls,Presidential Election

Only 20% of America green with envy … 75% say it makes no difference how much money Romney has.

It would appear that President Barack Obama’s class warfare rhetoric is not winning hearts, minds and support of the American people. As reported at the Politico, only 20% say that Mitt Romney’s wealth would make a difference in supporting him for President. The Gallup poll showed that a whopping 75% say it makes no difference at all. So sorry Mr. President that your divisive political rhetoric of attacking Romney has not worked. Wow, what does Obama have left? He might actually have to run on his economic record for the past 3+ years, say it isn’t so. With all due respect to the Politico, “… One in five registered voters, largely Democrats and independents”, sorry but when one has a meager 20%, you do not get to use the bias analysis or the term “largely”.

One in five registered voters, largely Democrats and independents, say that Mitt Romney’s wealth makes it less likely that they will support him for president, according to a poll out Thursday.

While 75 percent of voters said Romney’s riches made no difference in their voting preferences, 20 percent said it made them less likely to vote for him, reports Gallup.

A small percentage — 4 percent — said Romney’s wealth made it more likely that they would vote for him.

“As you know Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney has a net worth of over $200 million. Does the fact that he is this rich make you more likely or less likely to vote for him, or does it make no difference?” the question from Gallup read.

More analysis from Gallup on the massive percentage of people who say that Romney’s wealth makes no difference in their vote.

The Obama campaign has targeted Romney’s wealth in recent weeks, stressing his net worth and how he earned it as head of Bain Capital, where he has invested it, and the fact that he has not released all of his tax returns from the last decade. Obama’s campaign is apparently using Romney’s wealth in its efforts to convince voters that Romney is not as well-equipped as Obama to understand the problems and needs of middle- and lower-class Americans. The Romney campaign has pushed back, stressing that voters are more interested in fixing the economy than in the candidates’ personal financial situations.
