Jet Blue Passengers Seeing RED

Posted in: Aruba,Travel,weather,WTF

Jet Blue has a lot of PR and fence mending to do in the wake of passengers being left waiting JetBlue_stuckin airplanes on the tarmac for nearly 9 hours. Passengers aboard JetBlue flights were seeing RED Do to the harsh winter ice and snow storms that hit the northeast many plane flights were grounded and cancelled; however, Jet Blue passengers had a nightmare all unto themselves.

The airline said 10 incoming and outbound flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport were “significantly delayed” with customers on board during Wednesday’s storm. Reasons included congestion, frozen equipment and an effort to keep planes ready to go in case the weather broke, said JetBlue spokesman Bryan Baldwin.

More than 250 of JetBlue’s roughly 500 flights nationwide were canceled Wednesday, but “fairly normal” service resumed Thursday, he said.

Calling Wednesday’s delays “unacceptable,” the airline planned to offer the affected passengers refunds and free flights.

To Cheryl Chesner, 26, “unacceptable” was hardly the word for the 11 hours she said she and her husband, Seth, 27, spent trying to take a JetBlue flight to Aruba for their honeymoon. (Yahoo News)

Serves you right for going to Aruba in the first place. Don’t worry though … Jet Blue’s treatment of you is only a precursor of things to come when you arrive in Aruba. Call it “karma” for buying the ticket to the location in the first place.

NEW YORK (AP) – JetBlue Airways Corp. tried to calm a maelstrom of criticism Thursday, after passengers were left waiting on planes at a New York airport for as long as 11 hours during a snow and ice storm.

Planes ran out of food and water as they sat for over 8 hours

At JFK Airport, at least four JetBlue planes were stuck on the runway fully loaded with passengers and children for hours.

The planes were running out of food and water — and the passengers were running out of patience.
Eyewitness News reporter Phil Lipoff is at JFK with the story.

It was a nasty commute for a lot of people Wednesday morning so we’ll keep this in perspective. But think about it — hours and hours on a plane. (ABC)

JFK JetBlue Passengers Face Turmoil On The Tarmac

The JetBlue apology tour is in full force.

(CBS) QUEENS Jet Blue Airlines apologized late Wednesday to dozens of passengers who were kept sitting on planes at New York’s JFK Airport for 10 hours or more without ever taking off.

The airline said half of its 550 flights were cancelled because of a winter storm that also caused massive traffic and transit delays throughout the Tri-State area.

Ten JetBlue flights, however, were loaded with passengers on board. Some made it to the runways only to run into icing problems that kept them grounded. Some of the planes at the gate became frozen to the ground and passengers weren’t able to disembark.
