‘Real ID’ Bill, American’s Would Be Against This, Why?

Posted in: Main,Politics

In a post 9-11 World and a day in which of boarders are under a constant threat, We have politicians actually preventing us from being more safe. James Sensenbrenner has been at the forefront of this issue. What a novel concept, a form of National ID. (WI-R) passed the House 261-161 on Feb. 10, THE ID BILL, and now looks to the Senate.

The act would prohibit anyone without a federally recognized state-issued ID from boarding an airplane or accessing federal programs that require federally recognized identification.

“The legislation does not try to set states’ policy for those who may or may not drive a car, but it does address the use of a drivers’ license as a form of identification to a federal official,” Sensenbrenner said in a floor statement on the measure.

It is about time that legislators take this serious and stop worrying who may get upset by the passage of such a bill. This idea actually works on two fronts, terrorism and illegal immigration.
The idea for a fraud-resistant ID system was recommended by the Sept. 11 commission as a way to prevent terrorists from gaining access to legitimate identities, much the way it was done by the terrorists behind the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, who held valid drivers’ licenses when they boarded U.S. planes.

Congress should start to concern themselves with protecting our borders and protecting WE THE PEOPLE.
