“Missed It By That Much” … Obama’s Budget Goes Down in Flames in US Senate, 99-0 … Not One Democrat Vote

How come the MSM is not talking about this bi-partisanship?

THUD!!! What was that sound? Barack Obama’s budget crashing to the ground with a 99-0 vote against. That’s correct, not one single Democrat Senate vote. This is hardly a ringing endorsement for Obama and Obamanomics. These Democrat Senators are going to have a difficult time justifying their vote against the Obama budget, their misgivings on voting for Obamacare and the $787 billion stimulus and campaigning for or with Barack Obama in 2012. Just a reminder from the Lonely Conservative, the US Senate is controlled by Democrats.

Gotta love the sarcasm from Michelle Malkin.com, ‘Senate narrowly votes down Obama budget’.  The final vote tally reminded me of the hit TV Show ‘Get Smart’. The TV Show, not the movie. Don Adams, Agent 86, Maxwell Smart was famous for saying, “missed it by that much”.

President Obama’s budget suffered a second embarrassing defeat Wednesday, when senators voted 99-0 to reject it.

Coupled with the House’s rejection in March, 414-0, that means Mr. Obama’s budget has failed to win a single vote in support this year.

Republicans forced the vote by offering the president’s plan on the Senate floor.

Democrats disputed that it was actually the president’s plan, arguing that the slim amendment didn’t actually match Mr. Obama’s budget document, which ran thousands of pages. But Republicans said they used all of the president’s numbers in the proposal, so it faithfully represented his plan.

Sen. Jeff Sessions, Alabama Republican, even challenged Democrats to point out any errors in the numbers and he would correct them — a challenge no Democrats took up.

“A stunning development for the president of the United States in his fourth year in office,” Mr. Sessions said of the unanimous opposition.

Weasel Zippers reminds us that the Obama budget also received zero votes in the House as well. The end result, not one Democrat was willing to go out on a limb and attach themselves to Obama’s budget. Hardly a vote of confidence for the leader of their party.
