Barack Obama … Newsweek Says The First Gay President … The Politics of Distraction

Posted in: 2012 Elections,Barack Obama,Battle Ground States - Swing States,Gay Marriage,Obamanation,Politics,Presidential Election

WELCOME TO THE POLITICS OF DISTRACTION … The economy is in shambles, a record number of Americans are on food stamps, one in three Americans are underemployed, the US debt is out of control and even the fabricated unemployment rate is over 8% … however, the news story of the day is Barack Obama, the first gay president.

From Newsweek magazine :

UPDATE: Newsweek forwards the following preview for Sullivan’s piece:

It’s easy to write off President Obama’s announcement of his support for gay marriage as a political ploy during an election year. But don’t believe the cynics. Andrew Sullivan argues that this announcement has been in the making for years. “When you step back a little and assess the record of Obama on gay rights, you see, in fact, that this was not an aberration. It was an inevitable culmination of three years of work.” And President Obama has much in common with the gay community. “He had to discover his black identity and then reconcile it with his white family, just as gays discover their homosexual identity and then have to reconcile it with their heterosexual family,” Sullivan writes.

So Democrats think this is now a winning issue? Well, they most likely never thought that it would come to Obama being dubbed the first gay president; however, when one has to distract and distance themselves from their terrible first term as president, anything is better than having to defend the pathetic and terrible present economy. So why did Obama bite the bullet and finally admit his position on gay marriage? To get the campaign dollars of course, 1 in 6 bundlers identify themselves as gay.  However, this might have damning political consequences to Obama in swing states in the 2012 election. As the Gateway Pundit reminds us, 32 states, including North Carolina where the Democrat Convention will be held this year, have voted against gay marriage.

As Protein Wisdom stated, Clinton was the first black president and now Obama is the first gay president. Too bad we did not have a president who actually cared about getting people back to work and the growing the US economy.

What has occurred is that the complicit liberal, in the tank for Obama MSM has taken their taking points and orders from their favorite candidate as they are trying their best to make this a story with legs rather than discuss the economy.
