Once Again, “It’s Gotta be the Shoes” … Season’s Beatings as Shoppers Brawl Over Air Jordan XI Concord Tennis Shoes

WHAT IS WRONG WITH THESE PEOPLE … IT’S GOTTA BE THE SHOES!!!

When will people ever under stand the “Reason for the Season”? Let me make this one point, no where in the story of Christmas, Away in a Manger, or the birth of Christ … Hark the Herald Angel Sing, Glory to the New Born King is there a reference to Air Jordan XI Concord tennis shoes .

Police were called to the Carolina Place Mall yesterday as fights broke out over of all things, sneakers. Hoards of people swarmed in front of the mall in anticipation of its opening, in what could only be described in comparison  to the The Who concert in Cincinnati, OH where numerous individuals were trampled to death. It was not just this mall, but many in NC and across America as the Air Jordan XI Concord tennis shoes were released. Gun fire broke out at the Hilltop Mall in Richmond, where around 3,000 were people were waiting in line for the latest Air Jordan 11 Retro Concords. No one died yesterday; however, the Christmas spirit and the “Reason for the Season” certainly did.

The disturbance started inside Carolina Place Mall just after 5am. Witnesses said as mall officials opened the mall doors, crowds of people pushed their way in.

“They almost took the door off the hinges,” one shopper who didn’t want to be identified said, “there were women with babies in their hands and they on their backs.”

Shoppers were in line waiting for the re-release of the Air Jordan XI Concord tennis shoe at Foot Locker, Finish Line and Downtown Locker Room.

Shoppers break into the Stonecrest Mall in Atlanta, GA as they bum-rushed the doors, cause a stampede to buy Air Jordan XI Concord’s. Imagine people not waiting until a mall opens, then breaking the law by forcing their way into the mall. Get a clue people, and a life.

More VIDEO’s here of shoppers embarrassing themselves. The sneakers go for $180 a piece; however, they are already going on line for much, much more.  Honestly, the fact that they released these Air Jordan retro shoes during Christmas when they knew the reaction would be out of control, all should be ashamed.  What a sad commentary on what “MANY” have come to …  All this over tennis shoes. UNREAL!

UPDATE I: These scuffles were not just localized, they happened all across America.

The mayhem stretched from Washington state to Georgia and was reminiscent of the violence that broke out 20 years ago in many cities as the shoes became popular targets for thieves. It also had a decidedly Black Friday feel as huge crowds of shoppers overwhelmed stores for a must-have item.

In suburban Seattle, police used pepper spray on about 20 customers who started fighting at the Westfield Southcenter mall. The crowd started gathering at four stores in the mall around midnight and had grown to more than 1,000 people by 4 a.m., when the stores opened, Tukwila Officer Mike Murphy said. He said it started as fighting and pushing among people in line and escalated over the next hour.
