Another Dead Occupy Protester, This Time at Occupy Salt Lake City

Yet another death added to the Occupy movement tally.

The death toll is now at 5 tent protesters and 7 overall, as another Occupy protester was found dear in a tent today. The death occurred at the Occupy Salt Lake City camp in Pioneer Park. The protesters have been ordered to leave the parks and camping over night has been banned. They will be allowed to protest during the day, but must leave at night.  This is the same thing that should be done across the United States. The Occupy protesters should be allowed their freedom of speech to what ever their message is; however, they must go home like ever other group would be made to. Squatting in a park for an undermined amount of time is a health and safety risk, let alone a breeding ground for illegal criminal activity.

Hours after a man was found dead inside a tent at Pioneer Park, Salt Lake Police Chief Chris Burbank announced Friday he could no longer allow camping in the park or anywhere in the city.

“We can no longer have individuals camping on our streets,” Burbank said. “We as a city just cannot tolerate this going on.”

Burbank made the announcement Friday at Pioneer Park at the Occupy Salt Lake base camp. He said the group was welcome to continue protesting during the day, but they will no longer be allowed there at night.

It’s about time.
