11 Suspects Charged in English Airline Terror Plot

Posted in: Crime,Homeland Security,Main,Media,Travel,War on Terror,World

Police in the United Kingdom have charged eleven suspects in the airport terror plot Twenty-three individuals were arrested after the plans to blow up several trans-Atlantic flights were foiled on August 10, 2006.

The main stream media does remember that this was a foiled terrorism plot, right? How quickly they brushed by this story seeing that England and the US successfully quashed a terror attempt. However, the media is quick to jump on the band wagon of U.S. District Judge Anna Diggs Taylor’s decision to rule   that the government’s warrantless surveillance program is unconstitutional. Without such programs, does anyone think that such terror plots like the one discovered in the UK are possible?

Glad to see the ACLU is looking out for our protection and national security rather than their buddies, the journalists, scholars and lawyers. What is more important?

The American Civil Liberties Union filed the lawsuit on behalf of journalists, scholars and lawyers who say the program has made it difficult for them to do their jobs. They believe many of their overseas contacts are likely targets of the program, monitoring phone calls and e-mails between people in the U.S. and people in other countries when a link to terrorism is suspected.
