Will Ralph Nader Challenge Barack Obama to Democrat Primary in 2012?

RUN FOREST NADER, RUN!!!

Barack Obama has not been the most favorite individual among the Liberals and Progressives lately. Those such as US Senator Bernie Sanders (I-VT), who caucuses with the Democrats, has even gone so far to say that a Democrat Progressive needs to challenge Obama in a Democrat primary in 2012.

Is Ralph Nader that Progressive? The well known consumer activist and past Democrat Presidential primary contender has stated that he will launch an initiative to field primary challenges to President Obama in key states. Is Nader the “Monkey in the wrench” and the fly in the ointment for Obama? Imagine the damaging effects to Obama, who would have to run a primary and push himself even farther to the LEFT to win? All too many people believe Obama is more LEFT of them presently. The effects of a primary against Obama would be devastating to his reelection bid and force him to spend his political war chest against a challenge from Democrats who he believes to just be in lockstep with him.

“It’s an initiative to scan the possibilities of people who may run,” Nader said in a phone interview. “My guess is that it’s almost 100 percent sure there’s going to be a primary challenge to Obama from somebody or somebodies — plural — in some states.”

Nader’s effort follows comments over the weekend by Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.), a liberal independent who caucuses with Democrats, that it would be a “good idea” for Obama to face a primary challenge in 2012.

Obama has made many promises to the LEFT and has done nothing more than “left” them holding the bag. The end result is a falling Obama job approval rating as Barack has managed to upset the RIGHT, the LEFT and INDEPENDENTS.

A special thanks to RED for letting me post while he takes a little bit of a well deserved respite. I do not have quite the same style but will certainly do my best to carry on the SM tradition.  I take my posting name in honor of Red’s original web posting name from back in the day, “Red in s Blue State”. Get some rest Red and feel better.
