Superman Returns Movie released … Hollywood Will Just Never Get it …

The release of Superman Returns leading up to 4th of July weekend is of course no surprise for Hollywood wanting to rake in the box office, well maybe not. ‘Superman Returns’ But Fans Don’t, wonder why?  What is rather disturbing and typical of Hollywood’s out of touch approach with America is the following. Hollywood needs to figure out what their agenda is; a political, anti-American approach or making money by creating movies that people wish to see. We don’t need your political agenda in a “super hero” movie. A super-hero that has always wrapped himself in the American flag is now considered something different? I can’t wait until they remake a “Captain America” movie calling him Captain “United Nations.”

Superman’s slogan has always been …  “Truth, Justice, and the American Way”. Not any more. A special thanks to Hollywood and the makers of this film to changing it to “Truth, Justice…all that stuff” as it is released on the weekend we celebrate our INDEPENDENCE. “Superman Returns”: Is Superman still American?

Ever since artist Joe Shuster and writer Jerry Siegel created the granddaddy of all comic book icons in 1932, Superman has fought valiantly to preserve “truth, justice and the American way.” Whether kicking Nazi ass on the radio in the ’40s or wrapping himself in the Stars and Stripes on TV during the Cold War or even rescuing the White House’s flag as his final feat in “Superman II,” the Krypton-born, Smallville-raised Ubermensch always has been steeped in unmistakable U.S. symbolism.

I have always been a long time fan of Superman dating back to the days of George Reeves and watching those great TV reruns. I even enjoyed the Christopher Reeves movies. However, if a movie is embarrassed or feels the need to portray the media as being anti-American or is ashamed of the American flag, then I like Michelle Malkin feel no need to support this movie with my money.
