The rats continue to jump ship from Joran Van der Sloot. The “Little Dutch Boy” is presently without an attorney ahead of his court hearing next week. Was this more scheming by Joran to delay the trial?

Maximo Altez, the defense attorney for Joran Van der Sloot has quit the case prior to next weeks hearing in the murder of 21 year Stephany Flores in Peru. According to De Telegraaf , Maximo Altez walked out on Van der Sloot  after quarreling over money and how best to mount his defense. Defense? How about just pleading guilty and throwing yourself on the mercy of the court and stop wasting every ones time?  Joran Van der Sloot is charged with the murder of Stephany Flores, on the five year anniversary of the dissapearance and presumed death of Natalee Holloway in Aruba.

Joran van der Sloot, prime suspect in the disappearance of Alabama teen Natalee Holloway and set to go on trial for the murder of a Peruvian woman, has been dumped by his lawyer ahead of a crucial hearing, it was reported Tuesday.

The De Telegraaf said Maximo Altez walked out on his infamous client after quarreling over money and how best to mount his defense.

Van der Sloot, 23, has been held in custody in Peru for nearly a year over the murder of 21-year-old Stephany Flores, whom he is accused of robbing and killing in his Lima hotel room in May 2010.

Van der Sloot attorney resigns from case telling the Court that, “I cannot defend this case in the way he (Van der Sloot) wants me to.” What, you mean lie?

“I cannot defend this case in the way he (Van der Sloot) wants me to,” said Altez.  “We have a difference of opinion in the defense strategy.  I cannot discuss what the differences are.”

Altez said the lack of payment of his legal fees did not play a role in his decision.  He said he has always been aware of Van der Sloot’s financial situation and was happy to continue working pro bono.

May 30, 2011 marked the six year anniversary of the death and disappearance of Natalee Holloway in Aruba. One of the last to ever be seen with Natalee, Joran Van der Sloot of course.

More issues and reasons for the legal divorce of Joran and his attorney, according to De Telegraaf, was a dispute with American lawyers hired by van der Sloot to deal with the Holloway allegations.

One apparently declared van der Sloot was prepared to be extradited to the States, despite Altez having repeatedly insisted this could never happen because there is no extradition treaty between the US and Peru.
