12 Year Old Isabella Oleschuck Missing Since 3/19/2011 in Orange, CT (Update: Found Unharmed)

12 year old Isabella Oleschuck has been missing since Saturday night, March 19, 2011 in Orange, Connecticut.  According to the Orange Police, Isabella Oleschuck is deaf in one ear and left her home Saturday night with out her parents knowledge.  Officials are seraching the woods behind a house on 170 Derby Avenue in Orange with the assistance of a police dog and volunteers from several local fire departments. The FBI has also joined the search for the missing 12 year old.

Police also have the assistance of a K-9 and they have been combing the woods behind a house on 170 Derby Ave searching for Oleschuck since she was reported missing early Sunday morning.

The West Haven fire department and the town CERT team are also assisting with the search.

Description of Isabella Oleschuck:

  • 12 year old white female
  • blue eyes
  • shoulder length blond hair
  • 5 feet 4 inches
  • 120 pounds
  • She may be wearing a light blue jacket, brown felt hooded cape, and black rain boots.

Police have stated that there was no sign of an abduction or foul play and aren’t sure if she ran away.

UPDATE I: From WFSB, Search For Missing Girl Expands, Enters Day Three

Crews searched in swampy areas around Isabella Oleschuk’s home. The search is also going national. The girl’s picture is now posted on the website for the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

She has been missing since at least Sunday when her parents reported to police that she was gone.

Her girl friends are trying to make sense of her disappearance.

“We miss her, and we want her to come back,” said Lydia Cooper, Isabella’s friend.

At one point on Tuesday, search crews began talking about finding a jacket and socks near Isabella’s school. State Police were seen taking something out in a bag from the school area.

Orange police have not said if they found any items of interest at this point.

Police have enlisted the help of the FBI, fire department and even police cadets to assemble a team of 100 that has fanned throughout the town of less than 14,000 people.

A jogger spotted a young couple early Sunday morning near Racebrook School, a mile from Isabella’s home, police said

“The young female did fit Isabella’s description, looked similar to Isabella. …This young female was accompanied by a young male who was slightly taller than her and had dark hair,” Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne said at a news conference late Monday. “They were holding hands. There didn’t appear to be any kind of distress.” 

UPDATE II: Missing Isabella Oleschuck found unharmed hiding in the garage of an abandoned farm.
