Illegal immigrant Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro Charged with 3 Counts of Murder in Manassas, VA

Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro, an illegal immigrant, has been charged with three counts of murder and weapons violations in Manassas, VA.  Reyes-Alfaro fatally shoot his ex-girlfriend and two other people and wound three more in his murderous rampage.  However, the bigger problem is that Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro was ordered deported from the United States nearly a decade ago.  Reyes-Alfaro entered the United States illegally in February 2001. He was then ordered deported in 2002 but later obtained an “immigration benefit” that allowed him to stay in the US legally; however, the benefit was revoked in 2006. Obviously we know how that went as he was still in the country.

Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro, an illegal immigrant, was charged in the pair of attacks blocks apart Thursday night that left three people dead and three others injured, Manassas Police Chief Doug Keen said.

Reyes Alfaro knew all of the victims, he said, but police were still sorting out the exact relationships.

The Washington Post describes the crimes as follows:

Jose Oswaldo Reyes-Alfaro, 37, a Salvadoran national who was in the country illegally, was armed with a .38-caliber revolver when he went to the Hood Road townhouse he shared with Brenda Ashcraft, 56, just after 7 p.m. Thursday, according to police and court records. After fatally shooting Ashcraft’s son and wounding two other family members, including a teenage girl, he shot Ashcraft in the head as she tried to dial 911, police said.

Illegal immigration and the criminal element that exists in the US in an huge underlying issue heading into the 2012 elections. State after state is fed up with the lack of prosecution and follow up on illegals. Its not just an Arizona issue. Many states are looking to pass laws to clamp down on illegals. Such cases like Jose Oswaldo Reyes Alfaro and 23 year old Carlos Martinelly Montano who killed a nun in a DUI have many fed up.

The sad irony is that if the laws on the books were just adhered to, these illegal immigrants would have been booted out of the country and never had a chance to kill.
