Lindsay Lohan Back in Court to Face Felony Grand Theft Charges over $2,500 Necklace

Posted in: Bizarre,Burglary,Celebrity,Crime,Lindsay Lohan,WTF

Once again actress Lindsay Lohan finds herself in a world of trouble. Lohan is due in court to face grand theft criminal charges in the theft of a $2500 necklace from a jewelry store. Lohan is denying the charges. The obvious bet at this point is what are the odds that Lohan will wind up in the “big house” as opposed to the big screen first. It would appear from the actions of the troubled actress that its an even money bet.

Lindsay Lohan is due in court to face a new judge, and a new criminal charge, that could return the troubled starlet to jail rather than the big screen.

The “Mean Girls” star is due to be arraigned Wednesday afternoon on a felony grand theft charge that prosecutors say they will file over a $2,500 necklace reported stolen by an upscale jewelry store.

The charge is the latest – and most serious – legal problem for the actress, who remains on probation for a 2007 drunken driving case.

Police and prosecutors allege Lohan, 24, took the necklace from a store in the beachside community of Venice on Jan. 22, weeks after she was released from a rehab facility where she was also accused of misconduct.

How much more trouble can one person continually get in to? It’s obvious that this girl is spiralling out of control. How will it end? Sadly, we have seen this story play out over the years and it’s never a happy movie ending.

UPDATE I: Lohan Accused of Stealing Mink, Rolex in Past, Freed on $40,000 bail.

Lindsay Lohan is free on $40,000 bail after pleading not guilty to felony grand theft charges involving a one-of-a-kind necklace whose owner puts its value at $2,500.

And, reports CBS News correspondent Bill Whitaker, this isn’t the first time the troubled actress has been accused of stealing a valuable item.
