UPDATE (CNN): First test came back positive. Second test came back negative. The will now be performing a third test.

Earlier a U.S. Senate office building was evacuated after a sensor detected the presence of a possible nerve agent, sources said.

Eight senators and more than 200 staffers were evacuated after alarms sounded at 7 p.m. in the attic of the Russell Senate Office Building, located just north of the Capitol, Senate aides said.

They have been quarantined in an underground parking garage next to the building, said Eileen McMenamin, a spokeswoman for Sen. John McCain.

This is starting and hopefully looking to be a false alarm. One can never be too careful though when it comes to potential never agents. Waiting for the third test to most likely determine the next move.

8:33 PM Update: New conference by Capitol Police confirms that the nerve agent was a negative test. They are sending samples to a laboratory for follow up. There are no symptoms present amongst the people who may have been affected.
