AMBER ALERT in effect for Missing Three Skelton Boys in Michigan: 9 Year Old Andrew, 7 Year Old Alexander & 5 Year Old Tanner

Posted in: Child Welfare,Kidnapping/Abduction,Main,Missing Persons

An AMBER ALERT remains in effect since Friday for the three boys who went missing the same day that their father, John Skelton, tried to commit suicide by hanging himself. The father is presently being treated at a hospital in Ohio for mental health issues.

9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner are all still missing and considered by authorities in “extreme danger”. Authorities are looking for an individual names Joann Taylor, who the father claims he left the children with. However, the police are not sure if this woman even exists. Hmm, sounding a bit like Zanny the nanny of Casey Anthony infamy.

Police in Morenci have said they fear the boys are in “extreme danger,” and the father hasn’t been ruled out as a suspect.

The father, John Skelton, 39, was being treated at a hospital in Ohio for “mental health issues” after he attempted suicide Friday, Morenci Police Chief Larry Weeks said Sunday.

Authorities were searching Sunday for 9-year-old Andrew, 7-year-old Alexander and 5-year-old Tanner. They also were looking for Joann Taylor, a woman their father claims to have given the boys to before his suicide attempt. However, officials haven’t been able to confirm the woman even exists.

Weeks said the boys were last seen Thursday. Their mother, Tanya Skelton, reported them missing Friday, and police issued an Amber Alert.

Search to resume for 3 young Mich. brothers.

Police in Morenci, about 75 miles southwest of Detroit, plan to resume their search Monday for 5-year-old Tanner, 7-year-old Alexander and 9-year-old Andrew Skelton. A prayer vigil was held for the boys Sunday night after the FBI, police and numerous volunteers scoured fields, farmland and wooded areas near the Ohio-Michigan border.
