ORANJESTAD — During a meeting yesterday at Plaza Betico Croes, a group of about a hundred people got together to express their concern about the effect of the Natalee Holloway case on our island, in particular its tourism.

With the songs of Jossy Brokke, the prayers of father Eusebio Petronia and speeches from John Merryweather and Julie Renfro, last night tried to reflect the worry felt here.

MESSAGE

The goal was not to protest against Beth Twitty or the American media who has put Aruba in a negative light as of late. Despite the frustration about the latter, the main goal was to create a unanimity among those present and to empower the commission who organized the event to send a letter to the Dutch government today.
