Senator Arlen Specter (D-PA) To Get an Obama Administration Job After His Senate Term Ends?

Posted in: Barack Obama,Hope and Change,Obamanation,Politics,Senate,WTF

More “Hope & Change”brought to you by the Barack Obama Presidency. Remember when Obama said that when he was elected he would change the way things were done in Washington, DC? What was the change, for the worse?

It is being reported by ABC News that Arlen Specter, the US Senator from Pennsylvania, Republican, no Democrat, now out as he lost the Democrat primary is seeking a job with the Obama administration once his term ends. What else should a good little foot soldier get for his services.

Sources tell ABC News that Sen. Arlen Specter, D-Pennsylvania, has informed the White House that he would like to consider remaining in public service after his Senate term ends at the end of this session, and White House officials are keeping an open mind about possible job openings for him.

Wait, wasn’t it Joe Sestak, the winner of the Democrat primary over Specter, who was promised a jobby the Obama White House to withdraw fromn the race? Many questioned as to whether this was legal or a federal crime. Was there a quid pro quo offered to Sestak to pave the way for Arlen Specter? Hot Air says it best, Alternate headline: “Confirmed: Obama bribed the wrong Pennsylvania Democrat.”

If offer a job for a favor was good enough for Sestak, it appears that it is as well for Specter. As pointed out by many, eye brows are raised with the “specter” of a job offer to Specter as he seems to have done a 180 degree turn around on his stance toward SCOTUS nominee Elena Kagan. Suddenly Specter has announced his support for her. Of course he has.

Talk of such a job, however, has raised eyebrows among Specter’s Republican Senate colleagues, who are now eyeing his votes with added scrutiny. For instance, Specter seemed not particularly impressed with Supreme Court nominee Elena Kagan, whose nomination as solicitor general Specter opposed last year. This week, he announced support for her Supreme Court nomination.

This is just another example of Obama politics as usual, no change from his campaign promises that conned the voters and got him elected in 2008. It is yest just an other example of the Obama Administration acting in a manner that they railed against in 2008. Is it fair to say that it’s business as usual with the sleazy back room deals, maybe worse as now it’s none the Obama way … Chicago style. It also shows the desperate acts of these career politicians who just cannot give up the crack-like drug called Washington politics.

By the way, if given this quid pro quo job … Will Obama and Biden count this toward their jobs created or saved tally?
